Awesome facility with plenty of must see attractions , friendly and very attentive staff. Great food. Overall excellent experience for nature lovers. Room was so beautiful 😍, pool and hot tub was soo good.
This was pur second visit to the amazing Hidden Valley Inn. We went in 2017 for 6 nights and decided this time to stay for 9 nights. We did this so that we could really experience the beauty of the reserve and explore every trail. This time, we hiked between 4-7 miles a day, each hike on a unique set of trails. Each trail had something beautiful and unique. We also arranged a private lunch and afternoon at Secret Pools, which exceeded our expectations for the lunch and the swimming. The rooms are beautifully out fitted. We stayed in an Estate Suite (room 8). I still long for showing outdoors under the stars in the waterfall shower. The bed was super comfortable too. The food was always made with the freshest choices and we were even treated with a Tanzanian lunch and a Garifuna stew. Such wonderful flavors. The bartenders made is tasty drinks and worked to make sure they captured pur palates. The staff is the Inn's greatest asset. Always professional, kind, and going out of their way to ensure we had the best time. When you plan your trip, I recommend a minimum of 6 nights so that you can hike as many trails as possible! Pack your binoculars, hiking pole, long pants, and a good hat and get ready to experience some of the most diverse ecosystems and trails you have ever seen. Make sure to take at least one guided bird hike and be sure to check out all of the over looks. They have about 90 miles of trails, will drop you where you want to go, provide you a radio, and pick you up when you are ready. They will also give you a sack lunch for the day, if needed. I cannot say enough about this most special place expect make sure you plan enough time there so that you can really experience l they have to offer. We can't wait for our next journey there. …
This place is a true hidden treasure! So welcoming, with a lime basil drink and a cool washcloth enfused with eucalyptus scent. The grounds were gorgeous, the pool was refreshing. Everything was perfect. The private cabana rooms were exquisite! Decorated with fresh flowers on the bed and bathroom , down to the toilet paper folded into a fan. They had fresh cookies and tea in the rooms. We had great meals - our chef was amazing. Plus our lovely female bartender could make any drink you requested. There is only 12 rooms so it’s intimate and the staff is exceptional!!!! Our tour guide Marvin was the best - he took us to the Caracol ruins and we did the Butterfly tour in 2 days. We were there off season so we had everything to ourselves. We felt like celebrities ! I will tell everyone about it.…
My now husband and I got married at Butterfly Falls on the Hidden Valley property this month and it was a dream! We stayed for 3 nights and everything from check in to check out was flawless. Phenomenal service, delicious food, gorgeous property. Estell handled everything for our elopement and was very kind and patient with us throughout. Cannot recommend this place enough!
From the wood panelled library to the antique sitting chairs around the fire, the Inn exudes class and elegance. This is matched by the spacious guest rooms with huge vaulted ceilings and plenty of fresh air. The pool is a necessary feature in the unbearably hot climate (especially in the summer!). Dining is at a "leisurely" pace (hard to get out of there in less than 45 minutes), but the food is first-class: lime/basil welcome drink, carrot/ginger soup, orange/coconut dessert - flavours are fantastic. Internet - well, it's really slow. Slow to connect, and impossible to download anything big. But who's here for internet? The property is amazing: 7500 acres of broadleaf and pine forest, with well-marked trails constructed with bridges and ladders (try the Cascade Trail!), or large footpaths. The Lolly Folly lake is only a short walk away and the plentiful sounds of birds at sunrise are only slightly marred by the resort's generator. The Butterfly Falls is gorgeous and a great place for a private swim. Marvin our bird guide took us to see the threatened orange-breasted falcon, king vultures, and many woodpeckers, tanager, warblers, the noisy chachalaca and 2 species of owls (ferruginous and stygian). A classy end to our 2 weeks in Belize.…
We are planning to go back...it was just that amazing! Cancelling this booking in May 2020 was hard and I corresponded off and on with Estelle for almost two years over this! They had a driver waiting for us when our plane landed and we were taken care of from that moment on. The Inn itself is beautiful and the staff and food are amazing! Definitely book an Estate Suite so that you get the outdoor stone shower and the screened porch with a hammock. Our room was just beautiful! We wanted for nothing. We ate every meal there and the food was fantastic too! The excursions were unique and so much fun! Highly recommend Carcol with Marvin and the day long caving trip to ATM. Both are memorable! The staff will handle everything and get you there, feed you, and get you back to the inn! The staff are truly what sets this inn apart. From the fabulous Estelle (who I was excited to finally meet!) to Fermin at the front desk with ALL of the answers to our bartender Keith to Sandra who served all of our meals to Chef Alonso....they truly went above and beyond every day. 4 nights was NOT enough and we ended up with only one day of hiking. We plan to go back and cover more trails!…
Amazing. Estelle at Hidden Valley arranged our entire Belize visit. Even before we arrived in Belize, Estelle was on hand to make sure we crossed the Mexico/Belize border ok to meet our transfer. From then on we knew we were in good hands. When my family and I (2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 8) finally arrived at Hidden Valley after a fabulous few nights in San Pedro, the team greeted us and gave us all the info for the retreat. We were suitably impressed by the snake repellent! The lodge was unbelievably cozy with wood burning fireplaces and we were lucky enough to have hammocks to chill in which was amazing when we had a rainy night! Even though we were only there for a couple of nights, the team couldn’t do enough, from packed lunches for our trail trekking, to an organised remote jungle lunch to bespoke smoothies from the bar! The trails we did were incredible - the secret pools and Butterfly Falls, the King Vultures… we wish we were there longer. Wonderful team, wonderful stay and of course the jungle itself was mesmerising!…
Wonderful location with an elevation a little higher than most places allowing for cooler temperatures & breezes. Fabulous on site hiking. The Cascade Trail is an experience that should not be missed. We had an incredible property tour with Marvin that was beyond expectations. Our offsite ATM tour which was contracted out also had a terrific guide. Great bartenders & food. I requested a late checkout of an hour I was willing to pay for which was denied - that soured my experience some since the property only had four rooms being used. Some staffing communication issues. Regardless, great people, peaceful setting & picturesque experience.
We initially Booked the Premium Wedding package with Estelle & her Team for December 2020 for just the 2 of us. Obviously Covid put a delay to our plans but they had made the arrangement's with us in the UK totally effortless. We had many questions & concerns being so far away but they always answered them, in hindsight really all we had to do was supply the relevant paperwork, turn up when arranged & say " I do " , they took care of everything else. Having Moved the wedding to December 21 , we got all things arranged and from the very start it was Super Fantastic. They arranged to pick us up from our ferry from Caye Caulker in Belize city, stopped in Belmopan with our passports to get the permission to marry. On arrival at the Inn we where welcomed with open arms, given a tour of the grounds and taken to the fabulous room we had booked, it had a very comfortable large bed , very good bathroom and a great view from the seats on the front. Mind you we got upgraded to the superior room on the night of the wedding and for the rest of our stay, that blew our minds away with a waterfall shower outside & a long free standing bath. They arranged for us to go on a trek to the butterfly waterfalls the day before the wedding so that we could see if it was possible in a Wedding dress and suit - NO ! is the answer. But it was great fun and tremendous views. The Food in the restaurant was very good, 4 course Dinners every night, together with the local cocktails ( all included in the package ) , cant ask for more. The Inn itself has great faculty's including Pool, Hot Tub, Bar , lounge to relax in. we had a deep tissue body massage each the last day of our stay which felt like heaven ( afterwards LOL ) Then we haven't even mentioned the 1000's of acres of wonderful park land its set in with numerous waterfalls and treks , we think you would need a few weeks to see all of it. Come the day of the wedding it was so relaxed the team pulled out all the stops, they arranged everything and went way beyond our expectations. A Few things such as arranging tremendous hair & makeup women who even trekked to the waterfall with the dress & touched up Louis's looks again after a 30 min trek. They arranged the flowers to match our Colour scheme even dyeing some blue to do this. A few additional things we had requested on top of the standard package. - Arranging a Mayen Shaman to Cleanse & Bless us - A group of traditional local Garifuna drummers waiting for us after the return trek from the waterfall ( we met a women from the group in the middle of Belize a week later , she thanked us for allowing the group to our wedding , the pleasure was ours ) -The Private Picnic @ another waterfall was like paradise , the cake was huge and we aren't sure how they carried it down there. In Summary the wedding which can be a stressful day was totally relaxing and joyful from start to finish. The staff taking any worry's or concerns away as it flowed so smoothly . We cant thank enough the staff who where so helpful & friendly especially Estelle For making not only " Our Day " but the whole stay as great as we could have wished its defiantly a time we will never forget for all the right reasons. If this doesn't convince you to come to Belize and enjoy a stay at the Hidden Valley inn & Reserve well I don't know what will as we cant fault it all…
We loved our stay at Hidden Valley Inn. It was the perfect balance of active/adventure and relaxing. We spent a week using the all inclusive big 5 birding package and got to experience so many wonderful things at the inn and in Cayo - birding, caves, pools, waterfalls, Mayan ruins, canoeing, hiking, spa, local market. I would highly recommend a stay here!
