First of all, cleanliness is a big issue for this hotel to address. The rooms were down right gross. The carpets were clearly dirty and you can tell the housekeeping staff do not move furniture to vacuum crumbs. Chairs are stained as are the bed coverings. It made me wonder what else there is behind the scenes because it was so obvious how bad it was on the surface. I happened to read the reviews on Trip Advisor and they are spot on. I had no choice but to stay here based on it being a required travel hotel for a sports tournament. Second, I checked out and never was I asked how my stay was. I’ve traveled all over, for years, and think this may be a first. Again, a sign that perhaps there is little to no concern for customer experience. Third, I took the opportunity to give the hotel direct feedback before posting this review. I recommended they review their service procedures and make some improvements. I highly recommended change as it will impact their business down the line. The response I got from 'Front Desk Staff' was appalling. Not only was it full of excuses, they insulted me by stating I trashed their lobby. What an assumption to make! I sat in that lobby one time, at lunch, and even went to the rest room to get paper towels and clean off the table we sat at. So rude and offensive. Zero accountability or ownership on their part. My advice - avoid this hotel and inform sports tournament organizers about your experience (good and bad).…
We were here for a youth sports event so had to stay here. Wi-fi was very intermittent. When we asked the front desk for help with wi-fi sign-in,she just shrugged and said it wasn’t good. Our student could not submit his homework. The bathtub was poorly patched. I couldn’t have taken a bath if I had wanted to as there was no stopper. They only clean the rooms if you stay 5 days. We weren’t told in advance that they did not have breakfast due to COVID. Other hotel chains have offered limited breakfasts during this time. TV reception was spotty and they did not include all major news outlets.
I must preface this review with the fact that under normal circumstances I would not have stayed at this hotel and I made no complaints to management. The lobby is expansive and shiny however I cannot say the same about the room. I booked a double for one night. There were hairs in the sink and tub and the desk area was covered in dust. The bathroom door would not close properly and appeared to have gone under a poor repair job. The bathtub had large stops and the water did not drain properly. We decided to not bathe nor sleep under the covers. Thank goodness for wipes as we used them to wipe down all commonly touched services i.e., the remote. I am sad to report that we went through a lot of wipes as surfaces were filled with tons of dust and dirt. The carpets were stained and even a good vacuum would not have made a difference. It was difficult to keep the thermostat regulated. One minute we were cold and the next were hot. Never again. By the way front desk staff was not particularly welcoming.…
Rooms are cleaned well. However, this building needs some serious renovations from the ground up. Also, the staff could use some professionalism and hospitality training. No need to be disgruntled by customers asking you to do your job to help them out. Also, put on a UNIFORM. Or at least a name tags, or something that identifies you as an employee of the hotel.
Arrived - waited for my luggage and then called for a pick up. Was told 15 minutes. After 30 minutes I called back. Oh...they had to stop and get gas - should be there shortly. 47 minutes later I was picked up. No apology - no nothing. I had given my phone number when I called in - if they had to go get gas - call me and tell me to change my expectation. It was 7:40pm with I arrived and I was hungry and the van driver said - oh, we'll take you within a 5 mile radius. So I run up to my room...nothing special - but I will get back to that later. I run back down to catch a ride - since they told me it was the top and bottom of the hour for local eateries. I opted to go to Cheddars - hoping to get a bowl of soup and salad. I proceed to eat my dinner and call at 8:45 - in hopes of catching the 9pm back to the hotel Alas they tell me 45 minute wait. I am tired and don't want to wait the 45 minutes - so I decide to walk - it is probably 1.5 miles or less - but there are NO SIDEWALKs and it is 36 degrees with a wind chill taking it below 30. I was going to Uber but I had trouble connecting so I just continued to walk. As I said, the walk would not be bad were it NOT for the cars speedy by at 50+ mph. I finally arrive at the hotel to see two shuttles sitting there doing nothing. Really? My hands are freezing so I spend the next half hour in my room trying to thaw. The room is nothing special - but more importantly had things like - a tub that clearly had had a "skin" put over it and it was now peeling - the caulking looks like a 3 year old had done it and the faucet would not turn off. Coming from CA - leaky faucets - where water is so precious is annoying. My fitbit thanks the hotel for keeping me running up and down the stairs - 4 th floor as they have ONE very very slow elevator. The next night I get up to my room and my key does not work - I go back down to get a new key. No apology - no acknowledgement that this is not how it should work. Fitbit is running over time up and down the stairs. When I was waiting in the lobby I hear another customer complaining about the shuttle. Clearly there is lots of work to be done to get the shuttle working in a timely manner and teaching the front desk staff simple empathy and courtesy. Travel is not easy and the hotel should NOT make it harder. If I have a choice, I would not stay there again - too many other good properties with same cost and higher ratings in the area.…
