Fabulous time away from the big city. Amazing location for our girls trip plus two...locale is breathtaking, wholesome and tasty meals, staff was super friendly and accommodating. Horseback riding spectacular with professional and well-trained staff. ATV rides through rugged terrain, lots of fun options for kids and grown-ups alike....swimming pool, billiards, foos-ball, volleyball, ping pong, playground and more. Guest rooms and common areas very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Silver Spur Guest Ranch as your next weekend getaway!
So much stuff to do! Lots of critters. So Quiet. Dark skies for star-gazing. Super-friendly staff. Papa-J and Alyssa are great. We all agreed, though, Patrick was the best. We were so comfortable with him. He made us feel welcome and appreciated. He and Grayson did some fancy cowboying, and it was a treat to see those two work together. We could tell they were good friends. One must-do is, of course, the Extreme Polaris ATV's. Best fun we have had in years. Much more than we envisioned. So glad we came here to celebrate brother-in-law's birthday.
We had a great time. Now I consider myself a city boy so this was rustic to me - no tv and limited cell service (intermittent WiFi at the main building). But we got decent food (beer and wine available for a slight charge), clean accommodations (not fancy but very clean and very functional - bring your own shampoo), things to do (horse back riding - extra change or part of a package, swimming pool - very large, pool table, ping pong table, foosball table, 4x4 atv ride - extra charge but lots of fun, evening hay ride and campfire, animals to watch and pet, rocking chairs), friendly people (a family run place with a few extra hands to help out) and lots of relaxation.
Our family had a great experience! Papa J and family took great care of us and we learned so much about the area. Our kids loved all of the animals, trails, and of course campfire and s’mores. Food was great and the horseback rides were terrific. Thank you!
My wife and I stopped in just to see the feeding of the longhorns. We ended up staying the night and then added another night . We had two great nights of sleep since it is so quiet. This is what I expect when i venture out to a ranch. We really enjoyed the longhorn feeding which is why we went in the first place. We ended up staying so that we could relax and do some adventures in the local area. We ate breakfast at the ranch (family style meal) and ate dinner in Bandera - we enjoyed doing both. We searched for fossils on the ranch and actually found fossilized seashells that date back a couple hundred million years (took about 20 minutes of work). The horseback riding was really cool. We also bought some Texas mementos here made by local artists - less expensive and nicer than any others we had seen n our two weeks in Texas. Besides the longhorns and trail ride, we loved the nightly campfire stories and singalong. This is a great place to get away from it all and relax. WE WILL come back when we pass this way again. We also saw a roping demonstration that was really a lot of fun. My wife was chosen to participate which added to the experience.…
