My first trip to the Dixie Dude was in 1966 (I was 7 years old) and it has not changed much since. It is rustic and located in the middle of the Texas Hill Country. My brother once described it as Lonesome Dove with a swimming pool.... and that's what makes it great! Now, my children are ages 14 to...

We stayed for two nights last month as part of a road trip through Texas and Louisiana. We had a great time - in total we went on five horse rides through trails on the Texas hills. The horse riding is a great experience - you are escorted by three cowboys, but the horses and mules seem to know their...

My son and i just returned from The Dixie Dude ranch. We spent five nights. The ranch is full of history. My son had so much fun he didn't want to leave. The staff was gracious the rooms clean and the food delicious, I will return again. My son was a cowboy for one week and coming from NYC this...

My family of 6 just spent 3 days at Dixie Due Ranch April 2016. Party consisted of my UK family ages 44, 44, 11 and 9 and us 50 and 65. We rode every day, twice. The horses and mules appear well cared for and are very gentle. If you have not ridden before, there is nothing to worry about...

I visited this dude ranch almost a year ago and it was very nice for the most part. At the time I was living in San Antonio Texas living a very odd life and I had some money saved up for a trip. I did not have money to go far so I love the Texas Hill Country and I...

Our family adventure included us (73 year old grandparents), our daughter, her husband, and the two grandchildren (boy - 9, girl - 6)...they from Seattle, us from Texas. One of the best family outings possible...rustic, but comfortable accommodations, great food, lots of activities - horses, swimming pool, camp fires, cowboy entertainment, basketball, table tennis, tether ball, playground. The international makeup...

This was a must do on our 5 week trip and didn't disappoint. Food was homemade and plentiful. Rides were fantastic and call out to the Cowboys who made this trip amazing. A must do for anyone wanting great family experiences and memories. Sad to leave but will be back

What an experience. I spent three nights at the ranch and I loved every second of it from the horse rides to campfires. The room is basic but it was perfect for the surroundings. We stayed in the jingle room and enjoyed sitting on the porch playing cards. We did 5 horse rides over the 3 days and every trail...

This place was an awesome little 2 day vacation with the kids, away from the beach/themepark trips we usually take. Its slightly pricey for a couple days but considering you aren't going out paying for breakfast, lunch, and dinner it isn't bad at all. The hill country is beautiful, the staff were great and the accommodation were perfect. Enough to...

Two horseriding per day was the biggest highlight. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery around the ranch on the horseback. It was amazing to meet some real cowboys who were really cool and nice. The people on the ranch were extremely friendly and hospitable. We had some good meals. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in the West, cowboys...
