The place was very awkward, no windows in the bedrooms. We were unable to adjust the thermostat it was locked. Says there is a Keurg, there is no keruig. Just a regular small coffee pot. The towels are old with stains. The sheets are even worse! We booked this trip a year in advanced. We are all family so we were super excited to seeing each other and to having a great time. Bandera is a cool little town and we had a ton of fun! But our stay at A Place to Stay was horrible! The owner is very rude! Her family members are very rude as well. There is a right way to communicate your expectations and a wrong way! The owner and her family definitely got it wrong! If you feel that you cannot trust your guest at your property then you should not rent out your spaces! If you cannot afford to pay your electric bill then you should re-evaluate if you should be in business.

Horrific Experience Let's just say there is absolutely no hospitality from the owners/"management". It was the complete opposite. The owner, her daughter and son in law were very rude arrogant and down right hostile to our entire group. They stalked and harassed us during our entire stay. Actually "Management", AKA daughter and Son-in-law call the local police on us for a verbal disagreement because we proped open the side door for short time while our entire group loaded up our vehicles to leave. Two days prior to that the owner rudly bursted in and got ugly with me because I proped open the door briefly to unload three cases of beer, a 12 pack of cokes and a case of water and three bags of groceries for the weekend. The door was very difficult open. The understanding was clear the door being open was not a security issue but because of the A/C, which was set at a warm 74 degrees. My biggest concern was for the lack of security. We woke up Friday morning to find out there was a fully functioning window tinting business being operated out the same space as the rooms and common area with full access from the public. There was no security between the public access space and the rooms and common area. We were never made aware that there was a seperate business being operated out of there. When a person in our group posted a review on trip advisory the owner publicly and personally insulted her and posted a picture of her and her license plate. This is a huge security violation. Note to owner: No one from our family broke into your A/C lock box. Before we all left, we insisted the Sheriff Deputy and your Son-in-law"Management" walk the premises to inspect the property for damages and to verify things were left as instructed. He stated in front of deputy that "every thing looks great and we did a good job cleaning up". We have never rented from you in the pass and never will again. Taking out your anger for past renters on new renters is never a good practice.

The owner is rude!!!! We rented every bedroom, so to have family only....Only, to wake up, to find 2 people in there....They are running a business out of the front office!!! NEVER, was told anything about this....Then owner comes in screaming at one of the guys, for propping open the door to unload a few things. When I call to ask why I wasn't told about the business in there......she says....your'e welcome to leave, and hangs up!!!!! I call back, and ask did you hang up, or we get disconnected, she said, I hung up, not going to argue, I only wanted an answer...We paid, a year in advance.....and, it wasn't cheap...She keeps saying we didn't rent the whole building.....there were no other rooms left to rent...so, yeah, we rented the building.. We couldn't change the temperature, thermostat was locked!!! They called the cops when we ere leaving, because we had the door propped open...we were loading up.....Never had anything like this happen before.....Would not rent anything from them again!!! Stay away!!

When arriving, we had the good surprise of having tiny rooms without any window (and no, it's not written anywhere on booking.com). The centralized AC was really cold, and as guests we can't change the temperature. Since nobody was there the whole time, we couldn't ask to change it. Best part is that the room isn't even cheap for something where you have a shared bathroom. Terrible experience, sleep in another town around if you can.
