Last week I returned to the Tennessee Fitness Spa for the 23rd time--that's all since 2017. One of the first things I learned at TFS is that the way you look is 90% what you eat and 10% what you do. Fortunately, (and I quote): "Fueling your goals is our passion at TFS. Clean, nutrient dense meals designed and orchestrated by the Director of Nutritional Wellness, Belinda Jones, and the capable dietary staff, are comparable with meals served at any five-star wellness resort." I think of it as the fabulous five: food (obviously); fitness--the exercise program under the capable leadership of Kimi Sue is diverse and challenging--able to match any fitness needs; flexibility--yoga, led by Meredith, is so, so good (and there are yoga weeks scattered throughout the year over and above the standard 3 yoga sessions offered each week); friendship--folks from all over the world find their way to Waynesboro and TFS. Many return to meet up with old friends and make new ones; forest--TFS has the prettiest wooded campus. Bath in the forest as you hike/walk/stroll after breakfast with Elgenia leading the way. And you'll start off with an invigorating stretch. Can't wait to return to TFS. Thanks Nancy and Rachel, for your leadership!

Just a fantastic trip - relaxing but as much exercise as you want - and the indoor pool makes aqua classes twice a day possible - and three times a day when they play water volleyball!! While not high cuisine they are so many options for all that you will not be disappointed. My 3rd trip and I can't wait to return.

What a beautiful, green setting for a fitness getaway! Friendly and knowledgeable fitness staff guide you through a wide variety of classes, and the dining staff serves delicious and healthy meals with generous portions to fuel all the activities. Classes are offered to help with taking the information home. The InBody system really is personalized to help you with fitness goals. The guests were friendly and you felt right at home. Affordable and well worth the trip!

TN Fitness Spa is a Fitness Camp. They offer excellent nutritional classes with a certified nutritionist who teaches you how to eat & manage your food intake. There are multiple exercise instructors running classes for ALL levels of fitness. If you are a 400 lb. man, they have classes for you. If you're a 128 lb. girl and want to lose that last stubborn 8 lb., they have classes for you. They have an excellent water aerobic program with classes twice a day, multiple stretching classes, Pilates, rope training, & several hardcore walking trails. There are literally more aerobic exercise options than you can do, unless you're that 128 lb. girl. I mean, maybe, but she's going to be VERY sore. TN Fitness Spa is a discount spa. There is no Chilean Sea Bass over a bed of some grain of which you've you never heard, with a foam of something you'd never put in your mouth, if it wasn't a foam, surrounded by squiggly lines of a reduction from some berry you have to go to Whole Foods to buy at $18/lb. The food is average to good but ACTUALLY healthy. If there is something you don't want to eat [for me it's Brussel Sprouts], you can substitute something else [like green beans]. Meals are very social usually with some form of mild entertainment afterwards. The masseuses are great. Jessica is my fav. I usually get a massage about every 10 days. Trust me when I say you will be sore. Jessica's deep tissue massages are like 2 days of healing after one hourlong session. I highly recommend Jessica as a masseuse. She's amazing. The spa also offers feet treatments, cupping, facials, etc. Treatments are an additional expense but reasonably priced. Guests are primarily female. The Spa is VERY inclusive. I often smile when I walk into the meal hall and see all the women socializing and making friends. In some ways the spa serves as a kind of social clubhouse for women especially returning guests. I have lost about 110 lb. since going to the spa over the last year and a half. I have spent 2 months and 3 weeks at the spa during this time period. Outside of the spa, I do not use a nutritionist or personal trainer. 1st visit: 4 weeks -19 lb. +10 lb. muscle -29 lb. of fat 2nd visit: 2 weeks Didn't do the InBody Analysis this time. Lost about 8 lb., if I remember correctly. 3rd visit: 5 weeks -22 lb. -2.9 lb. muscle -19.1 lb. fat

What can I say? For me, it was an answer to prayer. Rustic, serene and fitness ‘boot camp’ rolled into one. You can customize your days for your personal needs/desires PLUS an experienced and compassionate staff that will walk along side you to assist in any way possible. State of the art equipment, knowledgeable instructors, awesome pool. The shady campus is beautiful—set alongside a stream (small river?) with historic bluffs with Natural bridge on the other side. It’s peaceful and meditative just to walk around. Bottom line: I loved my stay; got a jumpstart to reducing my weight and getting more fit. Took advantage of a one-on-one diet assessment with a nutritionist and now have a customized meal plan just for me, to keep momentum on my fitness journey. Check it out—it may be just what you need. Oh, plus the bed was awesome. Our deluxe room with porch was comfortable and provided a nice place to sit and just soak in the moment.

I come here for an overall reset! I meet interesting people who are all here with similar goals and needs and we all connect! Classes are varied and fun and can all be done at your level of fitness. The rustic charm of the grounds and the history of the property add to the appeal. Got here this year to find three others who were here last May and we picked right up were we left off. Great entertainment and craft activities this week too! We carry a lot of baggage in our lives and this is a great way to unpack it, re- evaluate the content and re-pack only what you want.

Stayed for a month May, 2021. My first visit, I was driving down the road in Waynesboro wondering when I would get there. I saw the sign for Tennessee Fitness Spa. I turned on the gravel road and thought OMG where am I going. Long story short, what a great, quiet, beautiful place. Will be back for 2 weeks May, 2022. I really enjoyed my time. I went from 200 lb on the scale to under 180 but I worked hard to get there. In addition to classes all day and the early morning walk, I walked at least total of 6 miles a day. Food is good. Nothing fancy about the place. You are not going to a “spa”. No alcohol unless you bring your own. I never wore makeup the entire month I was there. Shorts and tshirts the norm. You are in the country. People who work there are wonderful. I’m so excited to go back.

Summer health camp. Somewhat rustic, yet relaxing and beautiful. Historical property with charm. The best way I can describe the experience is summer camp for adults. There are cabins just a half mile walk from the activities if you want privacy under the stars, or various room options right near all activities and services. Every fitness class you could hope to try out, spa services, swimming pool, nutrition classes, cycling, personal training, and optional coaching with a dietician. The food is healthy and real, served in their rustic dining lodge. I love nature, wanted to get on track with a healthy lifestyle, and have access to a variety of classes and services so this visit was perfect for me. I stayed a week, but others will stay multiple weeks for more help with lifestyle change. I paid extra for nutritional counseling and massage which were well worth it. Food, classes, lodging were all inclusive. I did bring cash along for staff tips as they did a wonderful job.

No matter what your fitness goals are, Tennessee Fitness Spa is a great place to go. They have tons of fun fitness classes to challenge you and tasty food that is carefully prepared according to your personal dietary needs. They give you all the tools that you need to get fit, but it’s up to you how many classes you want to attend and how strict you want to be with your eating plan. Calorie counts are provided for each meal, but if you need more, there are healthy snacks and protein shakes available. For those that want to destress, there is a hot tub and sauna available as well as massages for an additional fee, and the area is abound with natural beauty and historical interest. The staff is supportive and encouraging without being judgmental. One of the best testimonials is the number of long term and repeat guests that they have. The week that I visited, I was one of the few first time guests, and I plan to go again.
