We stayed at Blackberry Farm for two nights of our TN mountains vacation. We really did our research on this one because the price tag is high but when we added up everything that was included we decided it was well worth it. We stayed in the Barn Owl cottage which was very roomy and beautiful. The bathroom was huge with both a hot tub and good size shower. The bed was big and comfortable and the living area had a nice big cozy couch. The property is quite big but we were given a golf cart to easily get around.

The feature here was the meals which are generous and delicious. The service staff are so lovely and kind and the food is really superb. We had dinner in the Barn both nights and it was fabulous (we did not realize we had to make those reservations in advance but the concierge I spoke to on the phone took care of it for me before our arrival).

We did book services at the spa ahead of time and both or our treatments were wonderful. I had a facial while my husband had the man's pedicure. We did not participate in any of the group activities but we hiked on the property trails each morning. The staff were very helpful in showing us the trail maps and gave us a radio in case of emergency. The trails were very well marked and cleared. The first morning we hiked we went to pick up the backpack they said they had for hikers and there were none available so I would recommend checking with them the night before if this is something you need (we just brought our own). We were able to radio the front desk at the end of our hike to ask for someone to meet us at the trail head to drive us to breakfast because it was getting late in the morning and that was a really nice feature.

We traveled during covid and the staff was always masked. Some activities were not available for safety sake. Masks are required in the dining rooms and most guests followed the rules.

We would definitely recommend Blackberry Farm but if you are stretching your budget be sure to read the fine print so there are no surprises in regards to service charges. It is well worth it for such a beautiful vacation experience.

In need of a get away after multiple vacations cancelled, I was lucky enough to grab a reservation for 3 nights in the Farmstead Cottage. We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers). The most important thing to know about Blackberry Farms is that the service is phenomenal and the setting is amazing. I can typically find something to complain about, even in the best of resorts, but I have none here. Somethings that might be helpful to know:

Social distancing and precautions done right. Even though the resort was completely booked, you never felt crowded, always appropriate spacing, staff in masks, with room to move freely. If you find you aren't comfortable, or for any other reason, you can get your food packed to go.

All of the food was great.

The Farmstead Cottage was perfect for us. At first I was unsure about using roll-away beds for the kids, but this cottage is bigger than you think. It has 2 full bathrooms, 2 living spaces, a kitchen, a screened in porch, a patio. Nestled into the trees.

Clay shooting was great. We aren't very good at it but it was fun!

Amazing views everywhere you look.

First and foremost, if you're looking for a "value" or "cost per something" vacation, Blackberry Farm isn't it. There are plenty of more economical resorts. I've traveled a good bit around the world and I haven't found another Blackberry Farm.

The experience begins before you arrive. Chelsea, our concierge, emailed me to arrange dining times and locations, activities and special requests. She liberally gave suggestions and happily accepted our choices, changes to those choices and changes again.

The drive from Nashville was 3 hrs and next time, I'll fly into Knoxville. I now know the farm will even pick you up.

On arrival, Joanne Funk happily put us (unasked) into a golf cart for a tour of the property. It's vast and beautiful. She's very knowledgeable and took us all over. She's also one of several folks at the Oak who deserve praise. Alex has an easy smile and always wanted to know if we were "doin' alright". Geoff rescued each of us at various times - taking us to dinner, arriving with a golf cart as my wife worked her way up a steep hill or taking my 5 year old to Camp Blackberry. He even found a few more cookies for our trip home and a stuffed animal for my daughter.

My wife really enjoyed her artisan cooking demonstration with Chef Rachel and I really appreciated Hunter's patience in teaching me, a novice, how to shoot at the sporting clay range.

Rachel and Shane made our dinner at the Barn memorable. The food was great. Thanks, Chef Dabney. Obviously, we also availed ourselves of the wine cellar - the second largest in the US - and would suggest a cellar tour for anyone, not just oenophiles.

Leah at the Spa did a great job on my massage, thanks. Alyssa, who staffs the barn was so patient with my 5 year old daughter and made the "working farm experience" really special. Despite not being raised on a farm, she can really talk the talk. She was so very kind.

I RARELY remember the names of staff members I meet on vacation. You can tell that Blackberry Farm is a wholly different experience. EVERYONE was warm and genuinely interested in making our stay as enjoyable as possible. I don't think you can put a price on that.

As a final thought, we were in the Caribbean a month ago at a fancy resort for a week. We'd spend the same amount for HALF the time at Blackberry Farm and both my wife and I agree we'd prefer the shorter stay at the Farm. It really is worth it.

My husband and our toddler recently visited and stayed in one of the Singing Brook cottages. We enjoyed the food, beautiful property and wonderful service. I would consider coming back someday but the experience is vastly overpriced for what it is and you can definitely find better value elsewhere.

The service is top notch though. After we pulled up in our car and completed the check-in process, we were escorted to our cottage in one of BBF's fleet of Lexus SUVs. Our room was very comfortable with a well stocked fridge and soft classical music playing from the TV. The bathroom is huge and our daughter loved taking baths in the Jacuzzi tub. The lack of natural light is a drawback though. The cottages are quite close to each other so they're surrounded by dense foliage for privacy. We tried getting some light on the porch, but almost got eaten by mosquitos after 10mins. It would be great for BBF to provide citronella candles or bug repellent.

The food is very good. I really loved the gulf shrimp and the hanger steak off of the dinner menu. The rotating chef's breakfast plate was also excellent and did a great job combining a protein and veggies. The desserts were a little boring though and overall underwhelming. We're also spoiled by living in NYC and after three days I was really craving some good Korean/Italian/Chinese.

The beautiful grounds were the highlight of the trip for us. My daughter loved the little boathouse and visiting the puppies and sheep. Since we were staying in the cottages, we were given a golf cart which made getting around the property really fun and enjoyable. We did a couple activities including canoeing and pony time. Our guides were very patient and personable. We enjoyed the activities but an hour with a pony at $250 and a couple hours of canoeing at $400 seemed really overpriced, especially given how much we were paying for the room.

All in all we enjoyed our family trip to BBF but I probably won't be coming back anytime soon.

We just came back from our first and hopefully not last visit to Blackberry Farm, it has been in my list for years but for one or other reason had not been able to go. My expectations were very high and Blackberry Farm meet them or best said exceeded them. The property is simply beautiful: the grounds, the restaurants, the buildings: charming country elegance. We split our stay between two different cottages and we loved them both, plenty of space, large bathrooms with all the amenities (heavenly showers ) bath tops and separate shower, double sinks, luxury toiletries, there was a seating area in each cottage with a sofa a chair and a desk, fireplace and a cozy terrace to seat and enjoy your coffee in the morning with the sounds of the awaking forest, magical! Food was very good, very creative, great variety of greens, cheeses made in the farm, a great wine list and above all an amazing impeccable service (we only experience the Dodgewood as we were traveling with our son who is only 9, eating in the Dodgewood terrace sourrounded by the beautiful Smokey Mountains was an amazing experience: breakfast, lunch and dinner, could not say what was best. There are plenty of activities to please every one, we tried Clay Shooting, John our guide was amazing, our son enjoyed his first Clay Shooting experience and does not stop talking about it. My husband and son also tried the fly fishing on property and enjoyed it very much, Andrew their guide was also amazing. There are complimentary bikes and plenty of biking trails. The property hiking trails are beautiful and can easily fill up two days, concierge equips you with all you need, snacks, a bagpack, water, repellent, sunscreen, a radio, they thought of every thing to make your experience perfect! We also enjoy visiting the Kennels, where the attendant was very nice showing us around, my son enjoyed visiting the poppies and playing with the dogs. It is a working farm, you see sheep, turkeys, roosters. We have traveled all over the world and have visited many fine properties, I must say Blackberry Farm is top in my list, it is a perfect 10 in every aspect, it is expensive but worth every penny.

From the second you drive in, the service is solid 5 stars. They do everything to insure a unique experience. The rooms are pricey, though food is included and they are serious in their food - sheep milk cheeses from the farm, food, from the farm all tremendously unique and exceptional. The activities are great, from hiking to fly fishing, archery, carriage rides, puppy playtime, the spa, horseback riding, this place is a slice of heaven in the mountains. We will be back! Oh, they don't advertise, so they are serious about the service, food and experience. Also, 2nd largest wine cellar in the US!

Wow. Where do I begin...this trip was one I'll never forget! My husband and I went to Blackberry Farm for our anniversary after hearing from many friends who loved their visits. I had very high expectations coming in after so many had sung the hotel's praises. Every expectation was surpassed. The dining experience alone is reason to go to Blackberry Farm. We ate in The Barn both nights (highly recommend) which was warmly lit with a glowing fireplace and pleasantly buzzing ambiance. Our servers were very helpful in making recommendations according to our tastes, and the timing between courses was impeccable. The meals didn't drag but also felt like we had plenty of time to enjoy. During the day, we wandered the grounds and rode around on our farm-provided golf cart. There's plenty to look at and to do, from visiting the farm animals and puppies to lounging in Adirondack chairs on a dock by the pond, and I can see why people come back again and again to experience all the property has to offer. We stayed in one of the Singing Brook cottages which is set back in a wooded area. Each night the fireplace in our room was lit upon our return (which they had let us know was an option and we requested). The room had soaring ceilings and was luxuriously decorated, yet inviting and so clean. There were so many little, unexpected touches - crackers and pimento cheese made from sheep's milk on the farm waiting in our room. A team member who overheard me tell my husband I wish we'd brought a fan since we sleep with one at home - then came back to one waiting in our room. A server overhearing me say that I thought the juices looked good, then bringing my husband and me a flight of fresh juices to try. We will be talking about our Blackberry experience for many years to come and look forward to special occasions spent here!

Beautiful, walkable landscapes, charm and fabulous cuisine are among just a few of the most wonderful aspects of the Blackberry Farm experience. Our accommodations were very updated and well appointed. We enjoyed being within a short walk to the main house . Despite 3 days of rainy weather our trip did not disappoint. We focused on enjoying the grounds and cuisine and spa. We did not
take any of the extensive classes and experiences offered so let me comment on what we did do. Our room was in The Guest House and it was beautiful. We had access to a gorgeous common areas with comfortable chairs, snack/beverage station and roaring fires. Spent a fair amount of time and $money$ at the spa. This is a beautiful facility inclusive of a pool area, however this is one area that needs work....the quality and uniqueness of the very, very high priced spa services are so so. We are experienced and well traveled day spa clients and know what an outstanding spa service is. We walked miles and miles around the property enjoying the farm sights and sounds. The absolute best of the Farm is the first rate plus cuisine, service and presentation. Nothing, absolutely nothing disappoints in this area.....I took the days' menus home on several occasions to help me remember my outstanding choices. It's worth going to BF for the cuisine alone.

During Covid, Blackberry Mountain did everything right. They were super careful of the guests and staff and we all wore masks and kept a safe distance. There is a lot to do outdoors which is wonderful. Even in a private aerial yoga class and standard yoga classes, we all wore our masks. It wasn't uncomfortable and I felt better about vacationing. The food is rustic and innovative; the rooms are beautifully appointed and the staff is top notch. We live at Montage Palmetto Bluff which seems to get 5 stars but there service and food is pathetic when compared to any Blackberry resort. It goes to show you that you can pay for 5 stars whereas Blackberry Mountain earns them.

Everything about our 3-day stay was so beautifully curated and relaxing. The Spring Brook Suites are spacious and beautifully appointed with thoughtful touches like a steamer, a flat iron and amazing free snacks. The farm-to-table dining is exquisite, so fresh and flavorful. And the grounds are just gorgeous. We drove our golf cart to hiking, dining, the two pools, to meet the adorable puppies in the kennel and to the beautiful spa. We didn't want to leave!
