My husband and I booked a king room. We got here early and went bike riding. When we returned, our room we rented was dirty. We were not offered another room and the property was a ghost town. The ride lady at the desk said no more rooms were available. We have been visiting this property for more than 15 years. We will NOT be back.

This was a great place to stay, plenty of property to walk around and relax. The rooms were clean and up to date. We felt comfortable staying here. The staff were great also, check in and out was quick and easy. We usually stay in pigeon forge and drive over to the area but from now on this will be our go to. I would have gave a 5 rating but had one complaint, the WiFi was horrible in the room we were in so hopefully next time we will be in a different building that the WiFi works good. If I didn’t work remotely it wouldn’t have been an issue but it won’t hinder us from staying again.

This review is for Oct. 2019. If going to Townsend, be sure to check all of the lodging possibilities before making your reservation. This place was a big disappointment. What is portrayed on the website did not match the room we reserved. What we found when we got there, was that this place is a conglomeration of small hotels and lodges bought up into one large "resort and lodge". You may be looking at pictures of what you think you are renting, but it's just a representation of what's available, not necessarily what you're reserving. Unfortunately, I didn't read carefully the reservation email they sent me which stated that we had paid an amount for the deposit and to check the dates carefully because the balance of the reservation is charged at checkin. The next sentence, which I failed to read carefully, said refunds will not be given on early departures. So when we got into our room and saw how outdated and pathetic it was, we couldn't refuse the room and go elsewhere. We later checked with a really nice facility next door with a real breakfast and an actual breakfast room, for the same price. The breakfast room at Tremont is the size of a tiny bedroom in an apartment, with a pitiful selection called breakfast. Do your homework before making a reservation. Townsend and the surrounding area are beautiful and it's a great place to visit! Go and enjoy the mountains!!!

For the deal, I was expecting a real flop house. However, the lodge was pleasantly attractive and our room was quite modern. I would highly recommend this place. They do need to hire more staff. The poor auditor that greeted us was frantically try to help us and other individuals with the phone ringing constantly.

HOTEL LIED ABOUT PICTURES OF ME & CHARGED ME FOR A ROOM I DID NOT STAY IN I went here to bring in the new year (my girlfriend & I). Booked the jacuzzi room through booking.com. When we got there, they had given our jacuzzi room away (after driving 5 hours). When we got in the room they did provide... it was something like a scary movie. Room smelled of smoke, dead bugs everywhere, carpet dirty, fireplace eww, couch looks like it was from the 80's my gf didn't even sit on it. It was ALL BAD! The view was awful (being that we did not get the room I paid for/ booked - which had a view. I was so disgusted, we checked in around 11:30pm, I called booking.com to explain the disgust & that we would be leaving (even provided booking.com with pictures). After being otp with them & finally off, we literally left at 12:01 (stayed long enough for the count down to 12:00). After dropping the key off, I called booking to confirm we left (they should have records/recording of the call made 1.1.2020) The hotel STILL charged me full price! When we left, the front office was closed. I had to drop the key in the drop box. The OWNER has disputed the charges with my bank & the monies have been taken out of my account again!!! The HOTEL OWNER FALSIFIED RECORDS to my bank & sent pictures to the bank saying those were pictures of me leaving 1.2.2020. WHICH IS A TOTAL LIE!!!! WE LEFT 12:01 1.1.2020 (Wasn't there a good 30 minutes!) NEVER WILL I RETURN TO THIS SLUM LODGE!
