Enjoyed a long weekend at the Bunkhouse Inn this past week. If you are high maintenance and need constant attention and Hilton-style amenities, this is not your place; however if you want a relaxation by the river in quaint, unique, and low-key accomodations, this is the place. It is literally on the river, so yes, you will have some insects... More

Well this is a great little place for the biker travel through, it is an older place but is fixed up really nice, all the rooms have themes, like the Critter Cove, Bear Cave, that sort, with each having there own little unique feature. We stayed in the Critter Cove on the end and each has a sliding glass that... More

We booked this place because of the high ratings and the pretty looking pictures. It turned out to not quite meet our expectations. Firstly, the place was indeed quaint and rustic, the decorations were nice. However, many of the things were quite old. There was a slight musty smell, door knob (we stayed in the deer lodge) was somewhat broken,... More

We chose Bunkhouse Inn due to it's prime location near great biking roads. My boyfriend was pleasantly surprised and plans to return with some of his friends on the next trip. I thought the place was adorable and unique. The room was very clean, but I do understand the complaints of musty smells, etc. There were several odor eliminator items... More

This is one of the neatest places to stay, they book fast so plan ahead. They have 6 rooms(book early) you won't be disappointed. The inside of the rooms make you feel like you are in a cabin. Very clean and comfy and the river is right out your back door with a beautiful view. The restaurant in front is... More

We had read good things about this inn (motel) before we left. However this was not a good stay. The room smelled damp and musty. We thought we could get rid of the smell by running the A/C but that did not help. Consequently I slept about 4 hours only to wake up to the same smell. We had booked... More

We are a group of Harley-Davidson riders from Upstate SC. We have just returned from our 6th annual "4th of July Townsend Time" ride. We rent all 6 rooms at the Bunkhouse and would not have it any other way. We cook on the grill provided, have "Corn Hole" tournaments, float the river or just relax by the river. The... More

Don't be scared off by the outside. It's old and only 6 rooms but the inside has been redone. We enjoyed 2 night with them. Three little pigs BBQ is right out front and that's where you check in. The owners don't offer a lot of info or even encourage you to eat there but..... guess that's their loss. If... More

Funny how perceptions differ - we stayed here at the same time as the other June reviewer in the Feathered Friends room. Yes, there is a bit of a musty smell until you turn on the AC and/or open up the sliders - but it's on the river, so probably the issue they're complaining about, and perhaps people with allergies... My Husband and I stayed two nights on June 14,15. We stayed in the Bear Den room. This room had a musty smell and I have mold allergies and could not breath the total time we were there. I had to sleep with the sliding glass door open. All other motels were booked. I have called the owners and left... More
