My wife and I have stayed here several times, and while the grounds are well kept the amenities leave something to be desired. First of all the Wifi is virtually non- existent you can barley get a signal at the so called hot spot, the worst WiFi I have ever seen. The bath houses although clean, are very dated and small. The staff at Big Meadow leaves you with kind of a mixed feeling, although not rude just not very friendly either. Overall this campground is well kept but there are better choices in Townsend if you are looking for anything but the basics.

First time at Big Meadow RV Park. I will say we had a wonderful time and I think we had the best site in the campground. We also went ahead and scheduled a trip for next year. Great location and great atmosphere. With the location we were able to run over to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge very easily. We booked the campground due to a balloon show that was taking place. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. I will give this place a 5 star rating but the internet was basically zero. I typically travel with a hotspot so I never use the campground service but apparently Townsend Tennessee does to have cell towers for Verizon service. They had two internet connections and I was never able to access. They said they had been having trouble. So if you plan on working while staying here, forget it. We also travel with a golf cart and new upfront that they did not allow. We asked when checking in if we could use the golf cart to travel to the balloon show. Once again the very nice lady at the check in told us we could go and come but do not ride around the campground. First trip out the owner stopped us and told us to park the cart. Brief conversation he said ok. Two minutes after that we were waiting to go out and a bulldog of a young guy came storming out to us and told us to park the cart. We told him of our discussion with the lady at the front desk and then 2 minutes earlier with the owner. He went directly to the owner and you could tell by the body language he had an attitude. I approached both of them and told them we would just park it. It was not worth getting them that upset. We are in our 50's so its not like we were going to hot rod around the park. This is why I have rated it a 4. Other than that, very happy but bring a book!

We stayed here in a 35 foot motorhome pulling a jeep. Easy to navigate into our pull through spot and unhook our jeep. We loved that the campsite was right by the river with an easy access for swimming. It is also right next door to River Rat Tubing which will allow you to enter the river right by the campground and will take you back once you finish floating the river. Staff was friendly and there was a little store on the campground. Clean, well maintained with gravel roads throughout.

This is the cleanest RV campground I have EVER been at!! The staff was very friendly. Great location, great place if you are looking for a nice quiet get away. The River Rat is right by them which is great if you have kids. This was our first time there and we will definitley be going back!!

We were there June 14 - June 17, 2021. We found the accommodations to be excellent and the staff very friendly. Our check-in preparations were waiting at the desk as we arrived. We were offered an escort to our site. The concrete pad was level and more than adequate for our 30 ft trailer and our full-size PU tow vehicle. The power pole was ready for 50A, 30A, and 20A service along with cable TV. The WiFi worked well although a bit slow with the number of expected users. Good water quality and pressure and convenient sewer connection at the site. Really a first-class campground. Easy to enter and exit with well-marked wide turns. There were many rigs larger than ours. Thanks to Malcome and Barbara for making our stay enjoyable.
