Get away from the standard motel room with a stay at the Dancing Bear Lodge on the quite side of the Smokies. Both the single and two room cabins are charming but still offer everything one needs. Their back porch offer a hot tub and rocking chairs with a peaceful view of the woods. While the kitchenette give one a... More

HOTEL’S FAVORITE REVIEW
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2016 via mobile

The Dancing Bear was the very best part of our Smokey Mountains experience. Incredible accommodations, remarkably pleasant and attentive staff, gorgeous facility, great amenities, we have nothing but the best of things to say about everything surrounding our time in Metcalf Bottoms at the Dancing Bear. We are now looking forward to our next visit to the area to enjoy... More

took grandkids on vacation to Great Smoky Mt. National park. Located just minutes away without the crowds of Gatinburg or Pigeon Forge. Cabins were spacious and well appointed. Frig stocked for breakfast and great homemade granola. We loved the hot tub after a day of hiking and sightseeing.

We had the best night's sleep after having travelled many days! After we initially made our reservation for one of their duplex cabin rentals that we believed allowed pets, it turned out that they had changed their policy for that particular cabin and promptly upgraded us to another unit in order to accommodate our pet. Loved the full porch with... More

Stayed here overnight. What a shear delight. Log cabin in the woods. No main lodge so checkin was just calling to see what cabin we were staying in. Private, private, private even though the cabins are right next to each other. The porches face the forest and are set up to be private. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Bed super... More

Cabin was very well equipped, comfortable, updated and clean. the grounds are very nice. The highlight is the restaurant. Fantastic menu, food, service and Dustin the manager was over the top. Great little and very well stocked bar and the house made bacon is off the chart. Highly recommend at least one meal there.

Newfound Gap was the name of my cabin. It was clean and exactly whjat one would hope for from a mountain cabin. Dinner at the restaurant was very nice though pricey. I will stay here again when I return to Townsend.

Dancing Bear Lodge exceeded our expectations. The cabins are nestled in the woods yet have all the amenities we've grown accustomed to. The beds were incredibly comfy and the cabin was well appointed with a full kitchen. Fresh fruit was made available daily as was thee best granola we've ever had. The restaurant on the property is amazing and there's... More

We arrived in Townsend around 3:30 pm and were greeted and shown directly to our cabin. The staff was awesome, our room was cleaned daily and immaculent. The air conditioner was super! We did not get a chance to view much of the property. The bed and down pillows and comforters were perfect! We have never been to Townsend, but... More
