Spent two nights on trip back West from Fall Creek Falls State Park. The ease of access, room decor, super-friendly staff made it well worth the price. the food was very interesting and not your "regular old hotel plates", by far. Staff members went out of their ay to accommodate anything we needed, which was little. Even got us a take-home sack lunch our last morning although we were checking out right after breakfast. Grounds are well kept, although the trails to the falls and stairs down to and from the Main Lodge will tax anyone with a heart or knee problem. If you have one request to stay at the Solstice lodge atop the hill, as you can drive to & from there if needed, and a room on the main floor to further avoid stairs. We asked when our reservation was made and the clerk was vary helpful i this regard.

Staff was very friendly. Very helpful with gluten sensitivity. Food was delicious! Even though it was very wooded, it wasn’t buggy and I didn’t see one of mosquito! Beautiful property, and well maintained too. We’re particular and the bed and linens were very comfortable! The solstice lodge is less than 5 min walk, on boardwalk through the woods, to get to the hotel lobby and restaurant. Tina was Extra helpful and SO nice. We’ll definitely be back!!!

We wanted a quiet relaxing retreat and was hoping to find a place close to our home. Smithville was the perfect choice for us since it is only 2 and half hrs . Having a chef onsite was a plus also and the meals did not disappoint . We enjoyed the full breakfast and the nice dining experience each evening . The “to go” lunches were just as delicious. We ventured out one day to Rock Island State Park since it was only 15 miles from the Mill . What an adventure that was .
But our favorite part was just sitting on our nice deck high in the trees taking in the beautiful surroundings and enjoying a good cup of coffee and then retiring to a very comfy good nights sleep . There was a friendly atmosphere and we felt right at home. We stayed in the Mt Laurel Cabin/room. Close to the lodge but still had a feeling of privacy which is important . There are lots of steps but it was not a problem for us. We even hiked the North Trail. I was glad I had packed our hiking sticks. We definitely needed them as it was steep for 70 years old . We probably should not have done that but we made it . We also enjoyed the game room and played pool. Even though there were groups staying during our stay , the staff kept us separated and we all enjoyed our meals and time there .
We will definitely return and I very much recommend the Evins Mill Lodge.
I saw comments about the price but we felt it was worth it .
Thank you Evins Mill.

We chose the “dinner only” option, as we were staying elsewhere before we found this place. My husband and I both communicated with the staff prior to making the trip and were told the dress was resort casual. We were unsure what that meant so they suggested a collared shirt & khakis for my husband (I had planned a casual dress). As we were packing for our trip I called back asking if dark jeans would be ok for my husband with a dress shirt and was told “it should be acceptable”. Upon arriving for dinner we felt very overdressed. Most people had on jean shorts, tanks, Teva sandals, t-shirts, we were quite confused. My husband purchased a nice collared shirt and I purchased a casual dress, which we then learned would not have been necessary. This was our 20 year anniversary and we wanted the environment and surroundings to feel very special, so we just decided we had dressed up for each other and it was fine to feel out of place.
However, the food was excellent and very high quality. Appetizers were homemade hummus & veggies, we were served soup, then salad, then our entree (choice of 2 meats), then our dessert. We loved how they did not rush you and allowed you to finish each course. All food was excellent. The chef is top notch. It is pricey though: $150 for dinner for 2 and we had 2 beers & 1 glass of wine. The service was excellent as well.
The property is very serene and beautiful, located off the beaten path. It’s definitely worth the drive.

Thank you for taking time to post a review! I'm of course glad you had such a favorable experience. We do ask all our guests to come to dinner in dressy casual attire. Unfortunately, not every one is as observant of our requests as you were. I'm so pleased to hear that you enjoyed one of our main attractions however, which of course is the cuisine and service. (For those who read this review/response, I would only clarify that our dinner package, which includes an hors d'oeuvre, four course dinner and non-alcoholic beverages, is $120 for two, though with drinks from the bar it is not uncommon that the final bill could run $150 or more.) Thank you again for your patronage and your comments here! William Cochran

I work for Lee Company and we were blessed to have our retreat here this week. I can't say enough good things. This beautiful location was hidden away in the woods off the beaten path. The buildings were artfully designed and blended in with the landscape. The suites had large beds, large living areas, and a large bathroom. They were clean and well kept. The wooden pathways to the restaurant, game room and other facilities were also nicely designed and lit by string lights. It's also not a crowded location.
But the food, oh my, the food was so, so good. I have food allergies and the chefs there took great care of me. They found a way to always provide for me an alternative if I could not have what the rest of our team was eating. Everything was on time and well done. All 6 meals were 5 stars!
If you love hiking, there is a moderate to difficult hike down to see the waterfall. I do not recommend it for young children under the age of 6 or senior adults with trick knees or difficulty with balance. There were places you could certainly fall straight down to your death. With that said, the hike was fun, the views were beautiful, and the waterfall was magnificent. I loved it.

We found this property in a Tennessee travel magazine we picked up last year. I will say it ended up being a perfect getaway for our 40th anniversary. The property is absolutely beautiful with the grist mill and rushing stream. Walking to the waterfalls was a bonus. With a recent knee replacement, I only walked the path that ended up across the ravine from the waterfall, but hubby made the hike to the top of the falls. We stayed in a Laurel room which is on the top floor of two floors. Each of the three buildings on the stream have 4 rooms. They all overlook the stream and we loved sitting on the balcony listening to the rushing water. It was very relaxing. We chose the room farthest from the lodge which meant more steps (42) but the walk was not taxing and the walkway is beautiful that goes beside the three buildings. I think the view of the stream is somewhat better from this room which was in the Webb building. The room had a comfy king size bed, two arm chairs and a nice bathroom. There was a loft which we didn't need but gave the room a vaulted ceiling which was nice. We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday and there were only a few other couples in the dining area during our stay. Breakfast and dinner were served in the lodge and our food was always amazing. We had a choice of entrees each night. We were served amazing salads and soups prior to a wonderful meal. The food was definitely high quality and worthy of five stars. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. During the day we sat by the stream, drove to nearby Center Hill Lake and hiked the trails on the property. Even with rainy days, it was a glorious place to be!

We visited the resort for a Mother's Day weekend getaway and had an amazing time. The food and service greatly exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed hiking down to see Carmac Falls. Our room was clean and a good size with a balcony that looked out onto a forested area.

I can’t imagine having wedding happening anywhere else. From start to finish it was all we hoped for. Evins Mill takes professionalism to the next level in the way they approach their events. From multiple meetings to clarify expectations, staff to help coach you through decision making, and all hands on deck during the weekend - we were never alone! It was a blast to have our guests stay overnight with us for the weekend and the venue made logistics easy as all events were at one venue. The food was extraordinary, the rooms were clean and provided unbelievable views, and our guests raved about the weekend because they could enjoy the hikes and indoor facilities 24/7. I can’t emphasize enough how accommodating the venue was to our vision and last minute hiccups. I would do this weekend over and over again.

Enjoyed a lovely week-end at Evins Mill for a wedding. The accommodations were clean; bed comfortable and food was fabulous. Still dreaming about the fruit-stuffed chicken breast. They were very accommodating to last-minute decisions on holding the wedding outdoors. Our room overlooked the creek, and we enjoyed sitting outside reading. Recommended.

Just returned from a 2 day stay at this wonderful resort recommended by friends. What can we say? Awesome! First, we loved our accommodations. The room is spacious with our own balcony and rocking chairs overlooking the woods. The bed was comfortable and towels were very thick and luxurious. We also enjoyed the comfortable common areas to meet with our friends. Can't say enough about the meals! Breakfast offered delicious choices each day. Some of our favorites were the bacon, fresh fruit and french toast with spiced apples and fresh whipped cream. Each day of our stay we received a very hearty lunch with a sandwich or wrap with a pasta salad, chips, cookies, fresh fruit, and water. So nice to have this as we went out on our hikes. Dinners were delicious. The chefs Jason and Jessie served steaks cooked perfectly! Loved the special bacon jam and horseradish butter that came with the steaks. Really enjoyed the various servers ... Ketha, Conner, and Laiza for their making our meal times enjoyable! In the evenings we enjoyed the game room and walking the grounds. The hike to Carmac falls is worth it! We look forward to future visits here.

Hey Tammy. I apologize for the most belated reply. Not sure how I missed this. Should you consider a visit in the future, our prices are published on the page of our web site that corresponds to the nature of your visit. Unless you are planning a meeting or wedding, you would click on the "Travel" tab along the top navigation bar and from there you can locate the pricing for our travel packages. Again, I apologize for not responding sooner. William
I appreciate your consideration. We're more of a resort than restaurant, serving meals mostly to our overnight guests. That said, we do have a "day tripped package" that includes a sack lunch and access to the property. If interested, please call to make a reservation. Thank you!
