Spent two nights on trip back West from Fall Creek Falls State Park. The ease of access, room decor, super-friendly staff made it well worth the price. the food was very interesting and not your "regular old hotel plates", by far. Staff members went out of their ay to accommodate anything we needed, which was little. Even got us a take-home sack lunch our last morning although we were checking out right after breakfast. Grounds are well kept, although the trails to the falls and stairs down to and from the Main Lodge will tax anyone with a heart or knee problem. If you have one request to stay at the Solstice lodge atop the hill, as you can drive to & from there if needed, and a room on the main floor to further avoid stairs. We asked when our reservation was made and the clerk was vary helpful i this regard.

This was our first visit to Evins Mill, we visited on a recommendation and knowledge of visits of my husbands daughter.

Our stay was above and beyond our expectations. From hiking and exploring, relaxing in our creek side room, visiting the bar, and dinner all were excellent. The staff is phenomenal, helpful, attentive, and so nice.

Hors d'oeuvres they served was a tasty spinach artichoke dip, our dinner was delicious, lentil vegetable soup, apple slaw salad, entrees were a choice of beef tenderloin or roasted duck with blackberry coulis (my choice) we had a vegetarian option, that was roasted butternut squash with a pecan glaze (ordered when we reserved our stay) for my husband and that did not disappoint, the dessert was cranberry orange bread pudding. It was very good, but I was so full after hor d'oeuvres and dinner I could not finish it. Breakfast was delicious as well, eggs Bentons bacon, sausage, cheese grits, homemade biscuits, gravy, fresh fruit, a selection or bread, bagel or muffins, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, or a variety of juices.

Our room was quiet and relaxing, the king bed was comfortable and slept well, towels were thick and luxurious.

Wifi in our room was not exceptional, but we brought a couple of movies to watch, no worries though there is a bunch of movies you can check out. As the title states, this is a great place to disconnect and reset.

We cannot wait to visit again!

We chose the “dinner only” option, as we were staying elsewhere before we found this place. My husband and I both communicated with the staff prior to making the trip and were told the dress was resort casual. We were unsure what that meant so they suggested a collared shirt & khakis for my husband (I had planned a casual dress). As we were packing for our trip I called back asking if dark jeans would be ok for my husband with a dress shirt and was told “it should be acceptable”. Upon arriving for dinner we felt very overdressed. Most people had on jean shorts, tanks, Teva sandals, t-shirts, we were quite confused. My husband purchased a nice collared shirt and I purchased a casual dress, which we then learned would not have been necessary. This was our 20 year anniversary and we wanted the environment and surroundings to feel very special, so we just decided we had dressed up for each other and it was fine to feel out of place.

However, the food was excellent and very high quality. Appetizers were homemade hummus & veggies, we were served soup, then salad, then our entree (choice of 2 meats), then our dessert. We loved how they did not rush you and allowed you to finish each course. All food was excellent. The chef is top notch. It is pricey though: $150 for dinner for 2 and we had 2 beers & 1 glass of wine. The service was excellent as well.

The property is very serene and beautiful, located off the beaten path. It’s definitely worth the drive.

Thank you for taking time to post a review! I'm of course glad you had such a favorable experience. We do ask all our guests to come to dinner in dressy casual attire. Unfortunately, not every one is as observant of our requests as you were. I'm so pleased to hear that you enjoyed one of our main attractions however, which of course is the cuisine and service. (For those who read this review/response, I would only clarify that our dinner package, which includes an hors d'oeuvre, four course dinner and non-alcoholic beverages, is $120 for two, though with drinks from the bar it is not uncommon that the final bill could run $150 or more.) Thank you again for your patronage and your comments here! William Cochran

We found this property in a Tennessee travel magazine we picked up last year. I will say it ended up being a perfect getaway for our 40th anniversary. The property is absolutely beautiful with the grist mill and rushing stream. Walking to the waterfalls was a bonus. With a recent knee replacement, I only walked the path that ended up across the ravine from the waterfall, but hubby made the hike to the top of the falls. We stayed in a Laurel room which is on the top floor of two floors. Each of the three buildings on the stream have 4 rooms. They all overlook the stream and we loved sitting on the balcony listening to the rushing water. It was very relaxing. We chose the room farthest from the lodge which meant more steps (42) but the walk was not taxing and the walkway is beautiful that goes beside the three buildings. I think the view of the stream is somewhat better from this room which was in the Webb building. The room had a comfy king size bed, two arm chairs and a nice bathroom. There was a loft which we didn't need but gave the room a vaulted ceiling which was nice. We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday and there were only a few other couples in the dining area during our stay. Breakfast and dinner were served in the lodge and our food was always amazing. We had a choice of entrees each night. We were served amazing salads and soups prior to a wonderful meal. The food was definitely high quality and worthy of five stars. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. During the day we sat by the stream, drove to nearby Center Hill Lake and hiked the trails on the property. Even with rainy days, it was a glorious place to be!

Evins Mill proved to be a perfect venue for our family to gather at recently for a safe, relaxing, and memorable 40th Annivesary celebration. Our group of 12 family members experienced a wondeful private dinner and overnight stay along with a superb breakfast and lunch. The entire staff was very attentive and went above and beyond to see that our vision for this celebration was carried out. Staff members adhered to safety guidelines. Meals were absolutely exceptional, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the scenery and sounds were beautiful. We found time for some hiking to the falls and for some family competition in the Gristmill! This is our first visit and we found Evins Mill to be a true gem! We would definitely come back! Thank you for making these memories possible for our family!

Staff was very friendly. Very helpful with gluten sensitivity. Food was delicious! Even though it was very wooded, it wasn’t buggy and I didn’t see one of mosquito! Beautiful property, and well maintained too. We’re particular and the bed and linens were very comfortable! The solstice lodge is less than 5 min walk, on boardwalk through the woods, to get to the hotel lobby and restaurant. Tina was Extra helpful and SO nice. We’ll definitely be back!!!

I work for Lee Company and we were blessed to have our retreat here this week. I can't say enough good things. This beautiful location was hidden away in the woods off the beaten path. The buildings were artfully designed and blended in with the landscape. The suites had large beds, large living areas, and a large bathroom. They were clean and well kept. The wooden pathways to the restaurant, game room and other facilities were also nicely designed and lit by string lights. It's also not a crowded location.

But the food, oh my, the food was so, so good. I have food allergies and the chefs there took great care of me. They found a way to always provide for me an alternative if I could not have what the rest of our team was eating. Everything was on time and well done. All 6 meals were 5 stars!

If you love hiking, there is a moderate to difficult hike down to see the waterfall. I do not recommend it for young children under the age of 6 or senior adults with trick knees or difficulty with balance. There were places you could certainly fall straight down to your death. With that said, the hike was fun, the views were beautiful, and the waterfall was magnificent. I loved it.

The property is very nice and well maintained, the waterfalls are awesome, and the trails are decent, albeit a bit rugged and narrow. The Staff are very friendly and helpful... every one of them did an amazing job!! The food tasted very good, but the portions for the appetizer, soup, and salad was a bit skimpy... sample size is more like it. The rib eye was very thin, but it tasted very good. the breakfast was buffet style, but it was surprisingly fresh and tasted good. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, and reasonably private.

Overall, Evins Mill is a very nice place for a couple to getaway and relax. There's not a lot of things to do there aside from hiking and relaxing. Smithville is close by, but there is really nothing to do there either... no quaint or cute towns nearby, and no decent attractions worth the drive (they're all fairly far and underwhelming), so you're pretty much better off just staying on property and relaxing the whole time you're there.

Bottom line: great place to relax and reconnect. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a lovely week-end at Evins Mill for a wedding. The accommodations were clean; bed comfortable and food was fabulous. Still dreaming about the fruit-stuffed chicken breast. They were very accommodating to last-minute decisions on holding the wedding outdoors. Our room overlooked the creek, and we enjoyed sitting outside reading. Recommended.

We needed a getaway where we could go off the grid for a weekend. We turned off our phones and spend time together. Evin's Mill was the perfect place. We hiked several trails, enjoyed amazing meals, and played pool, darts, and old school video games in the activties room. Thank you Evin's Mill for making each guest feel special! Hey Tammy. I apologize for the most belated reply. Not sure how I missed this. Should you consider a visit in the future, our prices are published on the page of our web site that corresponds to the nature of your visit. Unless you are planning a meeting or wedding, you would click on the "Travel" tab along the top navigation bar and from there you can locate the pricing for our travel packages. Again, I apologize for not responding sooner. William

I appreciate your consideration. We're more of a resort than restaurant, serving meals mostly to our overnight guests. That said, we do have a "day tripped package" that includes a sack lunch and access to the property. If interested, please call to make a reservation. Thank you!
