The charm of the house is only outdone by the hosts themselves. Inside and out, the house is beautiful. Each room has unique style and amazing decor. I cannot decide which was my favorite room of the ones i was able to see, but I absolutely loved the Sammy Davis Jr room we stayed in. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have found, the refrigerator was useful, and the bathroom had vintage style and modern amenities. Breakfast was delicious, and flexible enough to work around our unusual schedule. Snacks and drinks were available at our convenience, and the front balcony was a great place to relax. We were there for 3 nights, and I would have loved to stay longer.
My wife and I stayed at the Lane Street Inn on September 20th & 21st, 2019 to attend a family wedding in the Shelbyville area. What a delight it was to stay at a place with a soothing ambiance and an historic aura instead of a dull, cookie-cutter hotel/motel. The owners, Emily and Eben, are terrific hosts and they made us feel very welcomed. We highly recommend the Lane Street Inn for, if for nothing else, relaxation. We stayed in the Frank Sinatra room and it was very enjoyable. Everything was extremely comfortable and inviting. The house was beautiful and Emily gave wonderful advice about restaurants and sightseeing in the area.
This was a trip scheduled for a wedding in town. We found this reasonable Bed and Breakfast so that we could visit with our family. We were very pleased with our stay. It was very clean and I was happy that I had no problems with my allergies due to the Owners taking great care to make sure everything was allergy-friendly. The rooms were very well done and gave a feeling of being transported to another time. We highly recommend that if you are looking for a quite get-a-way with a great breakfast and cozy atmosphere that you try this Bed and Breakfast.
My husband chose this charming B&B online. I am always leery when I have never been to a new town, but Lane Street exceeded my expectations. Such a welcoming experience! We stayed in the Frank Lloyd Wright suite, it was filled with books, pictures, lamps, rugs... a true homage to Mr. Wright! The ensuite included a glass-enclosed shower (large enough for two) and a soaking tub. Emily and Eben thought of the details travelers are dreaming of. This southern mansion will not disappoint; lovely wrap around porches, comfortable seating areas throughout the house, a serenity garden... tea or coffee is provided at your discretion. Emily prepared a lovely breakfast; eggs, bacon, juice, fresh fruit, coffee and waffles. We will definitely return!
