This resort deserves more than 5 stars. Me and my family really enjoyed our stay here. Our kids had a blast. Service was great and the location very close to the major attractions. We will definitely be coming back to this place.
We visited this April 2022 as a three generational family stay. A great time was had by all. Family enjoyed the indoor water park and the arcade. Found a great church in the area with an early service. After church, Grandchild enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Day at the Club Wyndham Great Smokies Lodge. Great family vacation.
Condo was a very nice and definitely comfortable. The location was perfect to get to attractions and still not located in the middle of all of the traffic. Thoroughly enjoyed this vacation and the accommodations.
Great family resort. This is a review for Wyndham and for the attached indoor water park. Wyndham and Wilderness at the Smokies resort share facilities but Wyndham has their own building that includes a small fitness room. You don’t have to go outside to get to indoor water park. The rooms were very nice, clean, and updated with full kitchen. We had one bed deluxe and kids slept comfortably on pull out couch. They really have everything you need and you don’t have to leave unless you want to. There are a few restaurants/eateries (decent food not great), a candy store, a froyo place, two souvenir shops, a deli that serves pastries and sweets, an arcade (games not included with Wyndham) with black light mini golf and laser tag (both extra), and a large free indoor playhouse for kids under 54”. Obviously the reason to stay here would be for the large indoor water park (Wild Water Dome). We went in February so can’t comment on the outdoor parks. If the sun is shining during the day the temperature inside is very comfortable. There is a short time when the sun starts going down that it gets cooler but the water temp is still not bad. The coldest part is the tube slides but fortunately you are on a tube. To ride tubes alone you have to be 48” and to ride with someone else you have to be 42”. The only exception is the Storm Chaser which is the big funnel looking thing you see from the outside and everyone has to be 48”. We will definitely try to stay here again during the warmer months so we can enjoy the cool looking outdoor park as well. Two days is probably plenty of time to see and do everything in the indoor park. Even though we went on Presidents Day weekend the wait times were not bad for tube slides (10-20 minutes). The lifeguards are very observant and always scanning the wave pool and other pool (with basketball goals) Despite a lot of people it still seemed relatively clean. Obviously can’t say enough good things. We will be back!…
Resort over all seemed very nice and pretty well working throughout! employees were extra kind and pretty helpful ! We didnt actually get to partake in what all this busy place had to offer weather was not at its best the entire week we were visiting> So , we were gone most of the time! veryhard to get halfway close parking while there, seemed as though everyone was booked into same building ! Made parking very hard, and inconvient ! we didn't .need a water park and the new one was not opening till we left ! so, nothing much to say. unit was very nice very Wyndam ! comfortable and clean! actually cozy !
Shocked is the word. No pressure, no hard sell. Easy and I can't believe I'm saying this...Enjoyable time at their presentation. I had expected the worst! It was really a nice time. Their rooms they showed were incredible (don't know about the normal ones people used but the show ones...wow!). People nice. The Time share was really a points purchase program that wasnt that bad overall. I tried to find the real issue with it as with a time share it is so obviously not a good deal. This was not a bad deal at all. i don't know if there was some hidden issue, but I didn't find it with all my questions (I am a finance guy too so numbers are my thing). They came through on all the promised rewards for attending the presentation - although the free hotel will make you pay the tax (not sure how much yet) and have to reserve 45 days in advance...but other than that I would recommend listening to their spiel.…
Check-in is at 4:00 PM, very few exceptions. We arrived early and were given arm bands for the waterpark and were notified at 4:00 PM. This is a very nice resort that is out in Sevierville away from most of the traffic and congestion. Even in the off-season of early Feb, the weekends are a mess. Once we got to Monday it was a more pleasant vacation at both the resort and the area. The resort is very nice as there is access to a nice golf course and water park was enjoyable with the raft rides and wave pool. The hot tub is huge both indoors and outdoors. Will return when available again.
We enjoyed our stay in January 2022. The weather was cold and icy/snowy, however, the resort offered great amenities. The waterpark offered lots to do. The arcade was a fun place for the kids to spend the evenings. Loved that even though our rooms were across the resort, we never had to go outside to get to the waterpark. The deli in the lobby offered a good variety of food and snacks as well.
We chose this Resort because of the location. It is a few miles from Pigeon Forge, and just a little further from Gatlinburg. We spent part of our honeymoon 43 years ago in Gatlinburg, so we knew the area was beautiful. We had no idea how much it has grown. Beware that if you come here that you are not visiting a small, inexpensive, sleepy tiny town. This entire area has grown. There are waterparks, fabulous restaurants, shows, Dollywood, and so much more than we expected. The Resort itself has two water parks, one indoor and one outdoors. We were shocked that it was a serious water park indoors. We did not use it because we are a little on the old side, but if we had grandchildren this would have been lots of fun for them. The condo itself is very large, very clean, and extremely well equipped. We have made over 100 RCI trades since 1982, many to Wyndham resorts, and this resort has nice cooking equipment, a modern well stocked kitchen, a nice washer and dryer. The bed in our bedroom was extremely comfortable, and they give you several pillows to choose from. The bathroom in the master side is VERY NICE with a whirlpool tub and separate shower. The guest side has two nice full sized double beds (maybe queen), and the bath is as nice as in many nice homes for the children. We had an issue with a remote control and the ice maker. We called the first morning. Both were fixed within 20-minutes. If you let them know about a problem, they take care of it immediately. The gentleman who came to our condo was VERY NICE!!! We are here Thanksgiving week. They even gave us a turkey tray. We chose not to use it and will leave it for the next guests. The only thing in the condo that I did not understand was the location of the trashcan in the coat closet. Strange location, but we made it work. There were also small flies in the unit. We spoke with another guest who said that this is common in this part of Tennessee. I am giving the resort a rating of 4 out of 5 for one specific reason. My wife had to work which put us checking in about 1:00 AM after a 13-hour drive. My brother and his wife were staying with us and wanted to check in at about 4:00 which was check-in time. We were told that we had to buy an RCI guest certificate for them to check-in before our arrival. This cost us $89. We have been Timeshare owners since 1982. We almost never travel alone, and we have made 2-3 trades per year. We have traveled with other people to their timeshares. NEVER in 39 years have we been told to buy a guest certificate when we were arriving at two separate times. We sent my daughter to Orlando on her senior trip, and she checked in at age 18 with a 30-year-old chaperon we had sent on the trip with four seniors. It is my feeling that the demand for a guest certificate was a money grab. When I asked RCI about it they said that this was NOT A NEW POLICY and that this is directly a decision by the resort itself. It is my opinion that they made us spend $89 that we did not need to spend. Negatives about the resort that you need to be aware of. These things did not bother us, but they will bother other people. 1) There are lots of families with small children that run all over the place and make lots of noise. This does get aggravating at 11PM, but we are a family of schoolteachers, so we did not say anything. We are very accustomed to being around children. 2) The resort is huge and there are times when you must park far from your condo. If you are at one end of the building be sure to know that there are doors at the end that are locked 7PM-7AM but you can open them with your wristband (key). In conclusion, when we trade via RCI or rent a condo I have one question I ask myself to determine if this was a successful trade/rental. I ask, “If I moved to this town could I live in this unit for a few months while I was looking for a home?” The answer for Club Wyndham Great Smokies lodge is a definite YES. This would provide a family of 2 a lovely home, maybe even a permanent home. A family of three or four could live here comfortably for a couple of months before they feel like they are on top of each other.…
We really enjoyed our stay at Great Smokies Lodge. We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe, the rooms were big and it was very clean, which aided in us thoroughly enjoying our stay. We felt welcomed from the time of check in to the ease of check out. Chip was our concierge and he was very helpful and knowledgeable about everything we asked him about. The best part was there was not extreme pressure to do a timeshare presentation! We are looking forward to our next trip to Tennesse and we definitely play to stay here again!
