If you love history, good service, and food, Hale Springs is for you! I gave it four stars because there was not a step stool into the high bed. It really should have 4.5 stars. Rogersville does not offer a lot to do, but it is still a quaint area with friendly people.

We were on a short toad trip to break the winter blahs. Decided to visit Rogersville as we heard it was a quaint town. Much to our delight all we heard was true. Lots of interesting history and a very walkable downtown area. We decided to have lunch at this charming hotel. They had a sign out that the special... More

My suite was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The space was large and beautifully furnished; the bed was very comfortable. The staff needs hospitality training. When a guest arrives and says "hi I'm here to check in" you need to immediately look up flash a huge smile and say "welcome!" Instead the girl at the desk continued to look down at... More

I have eaten here several times; because there isn’t anywhere else (small town). The food is average on its best day and can be over cooked sometimes. If you’re in a large party order something that can sit in the window or on the tray a while or it might be cold by the time it gets to you. If you... More

We arrived right when they opened at 4:30 pm, the rib eye was not available out of 7 entree choices. We asked for the bleu cheese chips and got (Great Valuue?!) saltines?, The alternative beef I ordered was tough, the asparagus was cold. The waitress was unknowledgeable and less then congenial. A terrible experience. We were first time customers, celebrating... More

Very friendly staff and interesting restorations. The sound insulation leave much to be desired. Although the town is on the quiet, sleepy side; the overnight noise from the street outside was disturbing. The breakfast was fair - at best.

We spent the weekend here while attending the NASCAR race in Bristol. The room was beautiful and the staff was fantastic, esp the front desk staff. We had a great dinner on Friday evening in the bar. My husband especially loved the fresh cookies available on the second floor in the middle of the night! Be prepared that while you... More

This was an impromptu visit for us. We arranged to have dinner, see separate review. However, we loved the elegance of this property so asked if they had a room available. We were absolutely delighted and stayed in the Rogan room. It was beautiful, comfortable charming and spotless. As we were late arrivals I was able to negotiate an improved... More

We stayed at this hotel on a Sunday and Monday night. On Sunday we were the only guests but on Mondy, the place was full. We stayed in the Rogers room on the 3rd floor. Overall the property is well maintained and clean. Parking is around back. There is plenty of room in the dining room. McKinneys Tavern which is... More

This is a tough review to write because I do not want anyone to not go to HSI because of this review. It's a neat place - just needs to management improvement. First, be well aware this is not a bed and breakfast really. It's really an old stagecoach inn and therein lies the charm and character. Don't expect a... More
