Several of us came from Indiana and found the hostel to be fantastic. Everything was clean, and kept very nice. After our hike on the AT (3 days), I stayed in the B&B and found it to be the best! Breakfast is a must, here. The food was wonderful and the owners (and family) were excellent hosts. This was an... More

My husband and I stayed in the lovely Jefferson Room after hiking Mount Mitchell during the day. What a lovely room in which to take a shower and unwind. The bed could not have been more comfortable, and the assortment of books on the shelves were awesome. The room was so spacious we could spread out our things in order... More

The owners of this place do not realize they do not own a $500 a night bed and breakfast. Instead, they fill their home with hikers and outdoor adventurers and treat them all like they are paying $500. If they are not careful, word will get out and their place will turn fancy when people realize how good it is.... More

I stayed in the hostel, a converted barn loft. It is the cleanest and best maintained hostel I have stayed in. I occupied a semi-private room with easy access to one of two bathrooms, both of which were very clean. There is a well stocked General Store below with grocery, beverage, and snack items popular with most hikers. The freshly... More

I stayed here two days and was in heaven. The owners are very accommodating and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as they can. The B&B is located conveniently to the Appalachian trail and offers some of the best hiking in the state. The property is VERY CLEAN and the grounds are stunning with a... More

Beautiful property! The room was very clean, the bed was so comfortable it was the best sleep I've had in a long time! Everyone was extremely helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was out of this world! So much to choose from and all of it was absolutely delicious! I'd stay here again and again!

It was amazing, we stayed in the Jefferson room which was very large with an over sized Jacuzzi. I wasn't disappointed with anything, it was all so wonderful. The next morning after a wonderful nights sleep I loved the shower with the powerful jets which I didn't want to get out of and then I smelled the amazing aroma of... More

This is the ideal place to stay when section hiking on the Appalachian Trail like I do. There are shuttles available to and from several trail heads and a hostel if you need to pinch pennies. I actually stayed in my tent but had the Sat. am breakfast. It was amazing to sat the least. Plenty of parking and the... More

I was an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker who had the pleasure of staying at Mountain Harbour for three nights in total. I was a tent camper, but also hung out in the hostel barn room and so was familiar with that setup as well. I did not stay in, or see, the actual B&B bedrooms in the main house. What I... More

Four of us spent a midweek night at the Mountain Harbour hostel after three nights on the AT through the Roan Highlands. Well located for either NOBO or SOBO hikers. Arrived and were immediately shown our clean and comfortable accommodations. Slept beautifully in the comfortable loft. Good food resupply service for those heading back to the trail, like us.
