Workers are super nice. We camped 3 nights. They only have 110 connection. We had lots of problems with lights and appliances not working, had to reset breakers mult time. (Need to upgrade electrical connections.) Tent camping and rv sites desperately need standard crushed gravel. It becomes a mud pit when it rains, gravel would be an easy expensive fix. Bathrooms could be cleaner. Shower stalls are extra large and have hot water. Rafting services are good but need to disinfect life vest in between users.
Enjoyed our 5th time at the Hiwassee Outfitters! People working there are always hospitable. Fresh water available for camp sites. Bathhouse includes warm showers. It's a camp site so they can become muddy over the weekends but while we were there they were clean. Store provided essential supplies we forgot and everyone picked up a t-shirt. We will be back and recommend if your looking for a great place to relax.
Me & my Husband & Son & Friends was there some of us was there for the first time & some had been there before but it was like we had been there for so many times that we didn't want to leave it's so pretty
Great location, and everything went well with our rafting trip, but I won't ever stay at the campground again. A big sign with the campground rules was posted at the campground entrance but it's apparently just for decoration. The rules included keeping dogs on a leash, no loud music, and quiet time at 11p. There were 4 dogs not tied that were intermittently escaping their owners (one dog ran through our camp site several times and agitated our dog, who was tied). There was a camper who blasted music for two nights, despite my complaints to staff. And quiet time was not enforced. I don't mind music and some noise, but I don't like to feel like I'm at a singles bar when I lay in my tent to go to sleep. The bathrooms were dark and nasty. Most of the lights were out, there was no hand soap nor paper towels or hand dryer, and there was mud (I hope) on two toilet seats. I would have gladly paid $5 more a night for someone to clean the bathroom once a day and by "clean" I just mean a dry toilet seat with no mysterious dark smudges.…
My family and I was so glad we made it finally to do some rafting at Hiwassee Outfitters! It's very organized, cleaned and plenty things to do! The workers are friendly and very helpful. I would suggest this to be a must for a family or group to visit they won't regret it! Along with excellent services it has a beautiful scenery there. We will revisit at hopes for a weekend stay!!!!
