A friend and I stayed at this tremendous motel for three wonderful days. Absolutely perfect. The hosts go out of the way to make you welcome and the breakfast you can buy is superb. We had a two bedroom cottage , TV which you can stream your own service on is available as is a kitchen. I will definitely stay again. 20 out of 10
The hotel staff was very friendly. I showed up just as they were closing, and he reopened to give me a room. The room was clean, the breakfast waffles were really good, the biscuits and gravy didn't have much flavor.i would definitely stay here again
My wife and I stayed at the Colonial House Motel the first week in November. The location is great, the bed was comfortable. There is always a but. But we paid about $30 a night more to have an in room jacuzzi. It did not work. We paid extra for a fireplace. It did not work. We paid for a balcony. There was no balcony. There was no chest of drawers or anywhere tp put your clothes. No coffee pot, no toiletries other than soap, Breakfast was OK. Mostly carbs.
We chose this hotel because of its price, but also some of the reviews we had seen at the time of booking. Most important to us was cleanliness and a comfortable bed. We did not need all of the bells and whistles. The exterior doors need some weather stripping so air and bugs do not get in...we found two in the room. Not enough parking spots to accommodate guests. Our first couple of days, we woke to either construction or maintenance going on outside of our room. Loved the light-darkening shades. The interior lighting is very dim. Blow dryer was great. Could get all the towels we needed. No pillows though. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable and we thought having a couple extra pillows we might prop up a bit, but were told there are none. Complimentary coffee in the lobby was good. Strolled by the "room" where the complimentary breakfast was available to find limited seating and barely any room to move around. We opted to eat out. On our first morning, we met a very nice young man who was cleaning rooms. We brought out our dirty towels and he gave us clean ones. Tipped him nicely and also left another tip when we left. And when we left, we went to the office to turn in our key cards. Advised we were leaving...heading home. The clerk didn't say a word...not have a safe trip home, thank you for staying...nothing! We evidently interrupted the movie he was watching...so much for southern hospitality. That was the most disappointing of all things. Most of the staff, however, was nice and courteous. We will be back to Pigeon Forge, but we will NOT be staying here. Guess you get what you pay for. Respectfully submitted....…
This place is a joke. Door had huge gap, allowing wind and bugs to get through. Sliding door track full of dirt. Bathroom was filthy. Sheets smelled like they hadn't been changed. TV not working. Complaining to front desk does nothing. I'm surprised the health department clears this dump to operate. Don't waste your money.
The beds were alright, but everything else was dirty, shower was unusable, lights were poor, the pools were so full of pure bleach. One could have done their laundry in them. Burning our eyes, it was awful. Our whole stay there was bad. We stayed one night, we will never step in that place again. Stinkey!
Easy check-in and out. Very affordable. Friendly staff when we had to interact with them. 3rd floor room with balcony. Pretty quiet so no complaints. Clean room, some things could use an update but not horrible. Beds were definitely not very comfortable for the 5 nights we had to sleep on them. 2 pools and breakfast in the morning but we didn't use any of that service so can't comment on that. Would definitely stay here again.
Check in was a joke. I'd booked adjoining rooms before check out in April. Called several times to see if room next door was available...mentioned every time I had these 2 certain rooms. Was never told in many many years of staying there, that my reservation only holds the type of room, not the actual room, so my adjoining rooms were given to someone else!!! I've never had my reserved rooms given away before. My grandkids enjoyed the outdoor pool but was upset also we didn't have adjoining rooms to go back and forth, as we had always been able to do!!!
My husband probably kept me from looking at the reviews because he knew I would not want to stay, but now that our week is over I can honestly say…it was great. I feel bad for the previous people that had a bad experience but I guess you can’t please everyone. Our room was clean. I watched them clean rooms when people left and I was impressed. We had a room that had a balcony to the river (there is a small street in between), which my daughter and I walked every morning. Our room had a small fridge and microwave. I brought my own coffee pot since the rooms didn’t have one but I prefer my own anyways. Our room had plenty of towels and toilet paper. The mattress was comfortable to us and we slept great. The air conditioner in the room worked very well! It stayed cold! The breakfast was simple but got the job done. The lady that took care of the breakfast made sure it was clean and always stocked. They had bagels, small muffins, biscuits and gravy in a crockpot. They had apple juice, orange juice and coffee. There are three tables with nice benches to eat in there if you like and they had a small window open to allow air flow. I read it was hot in there but it was comfortable to us! If you want more of a variety of food than that then there are plenty of restaurants close by! The outdoor pool was the best part! My daughter and I swam in it every day we were there. The guy cleaned it before it was opened every day. The slide cuts on at 9ish and usually stayed on until 4 but Friday it was on late! My only suggestion is to leave the slide on later than 4 every day. We were minutes from Dollywood and Splash Country (which was so much fun!). The motel is located close to everything! It was a great stay and I would definitely come back! *Beware of the geese! There are a lot of those crazy birds but that is part of nature and not the motels problem!…
We just needed a place to lay our heads after a day at Dollywood. This motel got the job done. We were too tired to partake of the outdoor pool, but it looked fun. There was also a nice sitting area near the pool. A second “indoor” pool was closed with a note stating it was under construction. There are restaurants nearby and souvenir shops too. The room was basic with a tv, mini fridge and microwave. The floors were NOT carpeted and I found this unique, but did not mind at all. My wife slept alongside my daughter and said their bed had a hard mattress. I had no complaints myself as I slept in the other bed, but I like a firm mattress. The only other gripe we had was a most minor one. The complimentary toiletries consisted of two bars of soap. Of course, we had failed to pack any shampoo. So, with proper packing of health and beauty aids, those just looking for a night’s sleep will find The Colonial House Motel a good value.…
