Pretty high priced for a lower end motel. Rust everywhere. Needs painting. No coffee machine in room. No soap or shampoo in shower. Motel reminds me of one you might have stayed in for $5 for in the 1960's.
We booked a Standard room with two queen beds on the ground floor through the motel's website, which is exactly what we received upon check-in. The young man at the front desk was very kind and welcoming and the check-in process was very quick. The room itself was very plain and simple, but nice. The only complaint we can think of is that the beds were elevated more than usual and my Mom had a hard time getting into the bed at night. Also, there was no alarm clock in the room, so we primarily had to rely on my cell phone when we wanted to know what time it was. This motel does offer a nice breakfast, but we did not take advantage of it during our two-night stay. According to their website and outdoor signage, they offer waffles, biscuits and gravy, doughnuts, and the like. One great thing about the Colonial House Motel is its location. It is within very close proximity to restaurants (McDonald's, Subway, Golden Corral, Arby's), gift shops, and Pigeon Forge trolley stops. It is also not that far from Patriot Park, which is where the main trolley terminal is located as well as The Old Mill. From the motel to Patriot Park is probably a 10-minute walk, which is not bad at all! The check-out process was a simple as turning in our room keys at the front desk. The bottom line is that this is a nice, reasonably-priced motel in the heart of Pigeon Forge and we will certainly stay here again!…
This hotel is fine for an overnight stay. No complementary shampoo or conditioner, no in-room coffee maker was included. Morning breakfast looked pretty good but we had to check out without time to eat. The hotel is older and needs updating.
The guy working the front desk that checked us in was very nice and informative about the property. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The only draw back to the rooms are there is no place to hang clothes and no irons in each room. We ran to Walmart and bought an iron but a place to hang clothes would be make a huge difference.
Nice clean room. Very disappointed they no longer have any smoking rooms. Booking's site is inaccurate! Thankfully, Quality Inn still has a few smoking rooms so we'll stay there next visit. This place was nice enough, but they have the noisiest housekeeping carts. Went by our room like 10 times several mornings. They also have no clothes bar to hang clothes, just some TINY hanger thingy right by the microwave. If you hang clothes there, they block the microwave...we both had a weeks' worth of clothes we had to cram on it. Why in the world isn't there a clothes rod on the empty wall across from the sink?! Bed comfy, pillows okay. But no smoking rooms, itchy towels, no coffee maker and nowhere to hang all of our clothes was enough. We won't be back.
