We feature spacious RV Sites surrounded by two mountain creeks and lined by magnificent hardwoods. Convenient to Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, our R.V. Sites offer a refreshing alternative to those unreasonably cramped campsites we have all grown accustomed to at today’s RV Parks. Each RV Site has full hookups (30 or 50 amp) with a large concrete patio, picnic table and fire-ring. All Sites have Wi-Fi and cable TV. Each site is unique and has its own special qualities to offer. All campers have access to our natural areas along the creek.

Quiet tucked away location., but about 3 miles from the action. We stayed here for 2 nights. Used Uber to get around. Our longest wait was 35 minutes for pick up. ( not bad for only 4-5 cars locally ) There is a trolley for $1.00 that takes you to town. Loved the privacy between sites with mature trees. Dog friendly with a small dog run. During our stay there we’re many dogs here, but all well behaved and quiet . We would definitely stay here again.

This campground may be a great place to stay, but buyer beware if you have something out of your control come up and you have to cancel. I see now why they want half down for your stay. We lost well over two hundred dollars. I understand a penalty, so they don't lose money, but it is obvious our spot is rented out. I have been told I can't drive for four months, and I realize that is not their problem, but this policy is way too harsh and could use some updating.

Your campground feels like our home away from home. We stay with you several times a year and just love it. If we have to stay somewhere else it just doesn't feel the same. The campground is top notch but recently found out you treat your customers top notch. We came down at the end July for a Wednesday through Saturday trip. We set up for our first night and stayed the night. I got up unusually early just knowing something was wrong. I checked face book and saw a lot of our friends and family going through a terrible time in East ky as a devastating flash flood had happened. Many people lost homes and family members. Words could not describe how bad it was. My brother in law and his family were trapped and barely made it out of there home. We hooked back up and rushed back home. I told my wife we would just loose the money for the other nights. She called and told the office why we had left and if nothing could be done about our other nights we would understand and still would be back to camp next time. The lady said she would try to rent our campsite out to the first caller and to call back the following week. Well we called back the next week and they had rented our site and gave us a refund. I know this is not normally done and she went out of her way to do it. We are forever grateful and will never forget. Up the creek you are number one in our books

This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at. We had a Deluxe Creekside with fireplace. The sites are level, have a nice concrete patio, table and fireplace and full hook ups. The grounds are very well maintained and the campground is very quiet and peaceful. We paid the lock fee and reserved this site as soon as reservations were being taken because we wanted this type of site after looking at pictures and videos of the campground. As I said the site and campground is wonderful. **The problem is, as someone else mentioned, is people walking through the back of your site. Almost everyday as we were relaxing on the patio, enjoying the view of the creek, someone would walk through with their dog. Letting them do their business 10 feet in front of where we were sitting. The campground has a dog park you can take your dog to, or keep them on your own site. It’s not something I want to look at while relaxing or eating dinner. It’s just basic campground etiquette, you don’t walk on other peoples campsites.

This place is awesome. We stayed here for 8 days. Getting to the location can be a problem as some of the roads are very narrow. I recommend coming from the parkway and traveling down Wears valley to Walden Creek road instead of Goose Gap road. It is very narrow and I could see where it could be intimidating with a large coach. Goose Gap rd has no room for error and you better be on your A game. I drove it with a 35' fifth wheel but it is intimidating. The guard rail in some sections feels like it is 6 inches from the line and the lanes feel barely 8 feet wide with lots of hills, trees close to the lane of travel, blind corners and sneaky stop signs. Up the Creek itself is excellent. Very nice quiet seclusion. There is no laundry, no pool and no playground. That is all a win win in my book. It eliminates a lot of unwanted problems if you can read between the lines. No clothes lines and no tents and all that that tends to invite. The pads are far enough apart so you don't feel as tho you are camping on top of one another with foliage separating the sites. The pads are mostly all shaded but no limbs making contact with our coach. The entrance is nice and wide and the asphalt is perfect. The grounds are impeccable. The site pads are gravel but with a pebble/concrete patio. We stayed in site 49 and 20. Our pads were perfectly level. I would absolutely stay here again. You are far enough away from town to feel out in the country but just a few miles from all your heart desires for activity. Now with all that said, a word to the wise. If you so choose to stay creekside beware. We stayed in site 20 creekside. It rained heavily the night before we left and it flooded our site. All of our hoses were washed from one side of our coach to the door side and I estimated the water to have been at least 5 inches high rushing to the creek under our coach. Lots of muddy hoses. Also because the creek is so inviting everyone tends to want to enjoy it. That means they feel the liberty to walk thru and near your campsite to get to the creek which is about ten yards from your site. Some people don't mind this, I on the other hand tend to want my privacy and don't want people wandering around my site. I would not stay creekside again for the flooding and the wandering people.

Up The Creek RV Camp is an awesome NO FRILLS campground. No bathrooms, no store, no playgrounds, just awesome campsites. It is beautifully maintained. We tend to be very cautious of private campgrounds. We prefer State Parks and do not like being packed in like a can of sardines. Up The Creek advertises that they have the most spacious sites in the area, and this is true. The pull through sites are a bit close to each other but they have greenery between the concrete porch and the camper next to you. Campground is quiet for the most part. Heard some construction noise during the day but it wasn’t bad at all. I did see where a review where the camper stated they couldn’t make any noise without the owner coming over to quiet them down all the time. We played music outside and I was making my normal noise when cooking on a Blackstone and we were never asked to quiet down. We made sure our music was at a level just for us. I suspect the people who were always asked to quiet day were much louder than they realize. We stayed in site 18 which was quite large. I would recommend sites 15-18 as they are the largest and all on one of the creeks. These are all premium sites. After looking around site 18 would be our preferred site for a return visit. I would choose 17 is we had grandkids as it has a safe access to the creek. Power, water, and sewer connections were all good. Cable connection was OK. A lot of the stations the TV found were not watchable. (I turned my amplifier off). I think I only picked up 3 OTA stations. We watch very little TV even when home, so this was not an issue for us. WiFi was also OK. They do request that you do not doing any streaking or big downloads. When in the camper the WiFi connection constantly dropped. I ended up using my phone as a hotspot. I have AT&T is the signal and speed was very good. I was getting around 30Mbps down. It is self-check in. Stop at the entrance and grab your folder. If we ever saw the owners, we did not know it. There was a gentleman driving around one evening with his dog and appeared to be inspecting things and I suspect that was the owner. Ran into a couple maintenance guys who were pleasant. While driving around we saw quite a few private campgrounds and were so thankful we were staying at Up The Creek. As stated before, we do not like being packed in like sardines. We can do without the pools and little waterparks. The confirmation emails will state not to trust your GPS. The problem is not that the GPS can’t get you there. The problem is it may take you on a route that you really don’t want to be on with an RV. The email will suggest a good route, FOLLOW IT! The only local attraction we were interested in was the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We had planned to spend a day in Gatlinburg but after driving through it decided not to. Same with Pigeon Forge. If we had had grandkids with us them probably would have done something touristy.

Been coming here for the last 5 years. The same weekend for the Florida / Georgia game and always enjoyed our stay. Booked our 2021 trip and picked our site only to find out later that we’d been moved to a different site because we didn’t pay the extra “lock” fee of $25. Its already expensive but now you don’t get your chosen site without paying more. Came with our usual 2 other couples and got out the corn hole around 6pm to have some fun and within minutes were reprimanded for being to loud. So….. we put that up. The next day, being rainy, we all gathered in our 10x20 tent to play some card games. Great fun until the camp host came over and told us we were again too loud. Too loud at 3:30 in the afternoon. No where in the camping packet did it say you weren’t allowed to have fun with other couples. Forget the fact that they blew leaves and ran a huge leaf vacuum everyday all day. I guess that’s different loud. The day before we were to leave, all 6 of us gathered to cook breakfast in the 10x20 before heading out for a fun day with friends. Regular conversation while cooking breakfast and again…… one of our men was informed by the host that he’d received another complaint of being too loud. Apparently normal conversation is considered “too loud” who complains that neighbors talking is too loud? By mid afternoon I received a voicemail from the campground host informing me that the owner was asking us to leave. WTHeck? We, along with our friends, immediately packed up and left. Most campgrounds have quiet hours from 10 - 8 here it is apparently 24/7. I guess anyone who bans sidewalk chalk and asks that you don’t allow your children to bother other guests is definitely wound a little tight. If you’re for a retirement campground and not family oriented this is your spot. We’ll never be back again.

Response from alison rast, Owner at Up the Creek RV Camp

We are glad you have enjoyed staying with us for the past five years. Contrary to your review, multiple noise complaints were received by our staff from several different campers after dark, and some during our quiet hours. On one of these instances, you had invited over 30 people from outside the RV Camp for a "reception" on one of our campsites. We have a 6-person maximum per campsite. We asked you to keep down the noise once, twice and the third time we asked you to leave. If you are affecting the enjoyment of other campers, then we have to act on that on behalf of the other families staying with us. Several thanked us for taking care of the problem.

I have stayed in several RV Parks in the area and this one is by far the best in terms of beautiful grounds, well-laid out sites and facilities. The sites are full hookup and they border Waldon Creek on two sides. The middle sites even offer pull-through sites. The Pigeon Forge trolley even stops at the park if you want to save yourself the aggravation of the traffic on the parkway.

Very nice campground! Stayed in 2019 and 2020. This year had to cancel 3 months ahead due to illness. Was very surprised to get charged a cancellation fee so far ahead. Who can predict illness? I’m sure it will rent that far ahead! When facing hospitalization due to illness, people should be understanding!
