While opinions on The Inn on the River's value are mixed, with some guests citing its prime location and cleanliness as strong points despite concerns over room conditions and pricing inconsistencies, the rooms themselves receive varied feedback; they're noted for their cleanliness and comfort, yet some guests find them to be cramped and in need of an update. The hotel's amenities, including a diverse breakfast and scenic riverside views, are generally appreciated, though suggestions for improved bathroom ventilation have been made. The convenient location is a highlight, offering easy access to local attractions, and the overall cleanliness receives high marks from guests, despite occasional lapses. Noise can be an issue, with external sounds and loud appliances causing disturbances for many travelers. The atmosphere at The Inn on the River is often described as welcoming, with cozy fire pits and live music contributing to a festive vibe. The service stands out for its attentive and friendly nature, further enhancing guest experiences at the hotel.

The Inn on the River is a favorite for us. From the delicious hot breakfast to the popcorn and iced/hot drinks in the evening, it feels like home away from home! The room was clean per usual, and the bed super comfortable. Spacious and clean bathroom, easy access from parking lot, and the front desk was helpful at check-in.

The location is great, and close to all major attractions, and close to Gatlinburg.

Utilize the "Last Minute Get Away" deal through the website, or call the front-desk, and you can get a GREAT deal on a room (if booked a day or two ahead, or "last minute"). This can save you additional money.

The hot breakfast is delicious, and has many options. This alone will save you money on your trip, especially in this area.

As far as being "Covid-Conscious," we felt comfortable while here. We were informed of various practices in place for sanitizing and the like. We witnessed a worker going door to door, wiping handles down with cleaner in the main areas throughout the hotel. At breakfast, as well as other times (popcorn, drinks, etc), you are provided gloves to wear to serve your food. We felt comfortable and safe.

We will be back, as we always look forward to staying at the Inn on the River!

We came up on Monday November 30. We love this hotel & staff so friendly.
The new improvements are very noticeable and appreciated.
However my mom is handicapped and 77 years old, she walks with canes, so I would respectfully like to give u some insures.
To be fair they have handicapped rooms with a Queen bed but as I travel with mom we prefer two beds.
The new beds are lower and feel wonderful after a day out on the town.
The new showers are a step up from her trying to get into a high tub, but the half glass partition lets water get outside the door and the only safety bar is at the entrance of the shower none inside to hold too as you clean up. Dangerous! What if someone fell through that glass and got cut!
The only other thing was the nice crack under the door. It was snowing and the temp was 20-30 degrees. I put a towel in front of it but the room was still cold unless we kept the heater on 74 degrees. I brought this to the wonderful lady’s attention at the desk I wish I could remember her name she apologize and said she would tell management. She was the one who checked me in. We had asked for room 100 as it’s the closest one to the breakfast room. In advanced it wasn’t available even when we had asked that a note was placed in the room reservation. She made it right !
I really love the location and beautiful creek outside my balcony, mom loves feeding the squirrels.
We will be back!

Thanks for the feedback Susie. We love that you love our little Inn. It is sweet that your mom loved those squirrels. We are happy to say we are in the process of adding a glass door to those showers and adding extra door sweeps to the doors. They should be installed by your next visit. Hope to see you again soon. I want to start by saying KELLY was great! As soon as we walked in the door and had to wait, she called us over to play a bingo game with our daughter and she was so sweet! The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful as well.
With that being said, we were VERY disappointed and angry we had to wait to get our room. We booked it months in advance with a 3:00pm check in time. We got there around 2:30pm and knew we had to wait until 3:00...but we had to wait until 4:00, and after a 5 hour exhausting car ride, we were getting more and more angry. They explained that it was very busy because of spring break and that they were understaffed and Covid wasn’t helping matters either. I understand all of that, but it didn’t make me feel any less aggravated.
The breakfast was pretty good. Unfortunately it was SO busy, we had to wait in long lines and food was constantly running out. They were trying their best to keep it stocked but almost couldn’t keep up with it. They also have free fresh popped popcorn and drinks every night starting at 7:00 and the best soft baked chocolate chip cookies at the front desk all day long. The outside view was beautiful, right beside a river as well as a huge fire pit with lots of seating. There was an outdoor and indoor pool (indoor was heated so we stayed in that one) as well as a jacuzzi which was really nice and you could tell the pool areas were well kept and always had fresh towels and pool noodles which was helpful.
Room was very clean and organized. We got fresh towels, emptied trash cans, and a clean bed daily.
Beds were a little too firm for my liking (but that’s just my opinion) and pillows were super soft, I really liked them. Walls were thin and I could hear every little noise outside the room. Thankfully I brought earplugs for sleeping! But the hotel was also kid friendly and there were several kids there during our stay. They even gave our daughter a cute little gift bag! With all of that being said, I would stay here again in the future (maybe not during spring break tho, which wasn’t their fault).

We stayed here last week and had a marvelous experience. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds and very quiet. There are balconies overlooking the river with all manners of various birds. That combined with the sounds of the river makes you almost forget you are staying just off the main parkway. Whenever we walked in the hallways of the building a member of their staff seemed to be cleaning and sanitizing the commonly used areas. Very good breakfast also. I honestly cannot think of anything even slightly negative to say about our stay. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to staying here again.

The hotel registration staff were very helpful and friendly when we checked in. Our room was not ready but they took our phone number and called us when it was ready. Later when we ran into a staff on our way to our room, he asked if there was anything he could do for us. The room was clean and well-maintained. We loved the balcony with the river view. We enjoyed watching the ducks and geese from our balcony but also in the fire pit area outside the hotel. The breakfast was very good and they were constantly replenishing it. They also seemed to be doing a good job of cleaning and sanitizing the eating area. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Had a great stay - convenient to the mountains, attractions, They have a continental breakfast that was very good (even during Covid). Popcorn and drinks served 7-10 with an area large enough o maintain social distancing. Outside were rocking chairs around a large fire pit with a view of the river and mountains. There is also a path by the river for a stroll. They have an indoor and outdoor pools along with an indoor hot tub I was very impressed with the cleanliness overall. The room was spacious and clean. The bathrooms are large and include plenty of items in case you had forgotten anything. We will stay here again.

This entire staff at this hotel are guest oriented and make you feel very welcome. I love the 2 pools (1 indoor and 1 outdoor). They also have an indoor Jacuzzi and all 3 are kept clean. The hotel and rooms are exceptionally clean and we love the private balcony overlooking the Little Pigeon River. We also like the large walk in shower.
Great location for walking to nearby restaurants. Breakfast is the usual ho-hum fare but the coffee is excellent. Masks were not required but we were provided with plastic gloves to serve ourselves breakfast. The bedding is super comfortable. The only thing I can find fault with this hotel is that the towels are scratchy. Wouldn't consider staying at any other hotel.

Just returned home from a very relaxing getaway with friends to Pigeon Forge. We stayed at the newly renovated “The Inn on the River.” The renovated accommodations had new beds, bedding, furniture, and window treatment. The bathroom had been totally renovated, adding new shower and granite counter tops, which was very nice. We enjoyed a full delicious breakfast outside in the open dining area which faced the Little Pigeon River. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful and it was so relaxing watching ducks, geese, squirrels and cranes playing in the river. A huge fire pit with rocking chairs facing the river topped off our evenings. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, always eager to help if needed. We would highly recommend “The Inn on the River” for an awesome getaway!!!

I believe you can choose your housekeeping options. We usually just get fresh towels directly from the housekeeper as he/she are making their rounds, and forego the daily housekeeping. We pack Lysol spray when we travel and spray AC/ heat vents and other surfaces. I believe you can still do as you like
