There are very few open spaces in Nashville and Scarritt-Bennett has a very large expansive piece of land. It was originally a seminary. The architecture is beautiful and hopefully the exterior of these historic buildings will be preserved. However, aside from the lovely chapel, these bulldings should be gutted. What upsets me the most is that they are actually still... More

Very small rooms, with only bed and small table; carpenting on the floor is dirty; the common fridge is not cleaned as well, therefore the left by the others food rots and molds, making the fridge discusting to use (unless you throw the spoiled food by yourself). No possibilities to control the temperature in the room and the air conditioning... More

The price to get a room at this place is truly unbeatable, compared to actual hotels. The rooms are very basic, with only a bed and desk/chair. Still, I only needed a place to sleep. The one thing that bothered me was that the microwave in the shared lounge was dirty. I can't recall the name of the building that... More

Our group of 12 women travelled to Nashville for an Education & Outreach seminar at Thistle Farms. Skarrit- Bennett was recommended. Our purpose was to look at the project and was not one of leisure, but more of mission therefore these dorm rooms on a former seminary campus were perfect. We shared baths & stories, collected together in commons areas... More

This is a really clean nice place to stay for the very low price. It is a no-frills type of accommodation if you want a place to sleep and plan to see the sights of Nashville or visit relatives. It is quiet with no loud music or talking outside of your room. There is no shady activity going on. I... More

My stay at the Scarritt Bennett was interesting.. First day there I tried doing laundry and a cock roach fell onto my laundry bag! No one shared a bathroom until the last two days of my visit and they were very noisy. Also on my last day I found a huge bug in the bathroom that was too fast too... More

I've stayed at SB twice for 5 days each. The price is right and it meets your needs (bed, bath, towels, sheets, desk, closet) with no real extras. But you're not paying for extras. The location is convenient to a lot of neat restaurants and Vanderbilt. I'll stay again.

Walking distance to Vanderbilt University, and Music Row. The area has too mny bars and restaurants to count (The Tavern, Hattie B's, ReBar). Please note that these are no frills shared bathroom accommodations. That being said, best deal and find in the city. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. It also offers free parking.

Why didn't I heed the advice of another reviewer and bring ear plugs??? You need them. If you stay on the odd numbered rooms at the Cadwallader dorm the air compressor shakes you awake with a booming noise. On the even side you can hear the heliocopters and sirens. With ear plugs there were no problems. This is a basic... More

We arrived here after 3 nights in a rather dodgy motel in Memphis and were quite apprehensive about what was waiting for us in Nashville. Well we could not have been more pleased. First of all the setting so peaceful and calming even though it is very close to the bustling heart of Nashville. The surrounding neighbourhood is extremely safe... More
