Stopped in today for lunch, have never been to Omeo before. Yes the decor is probably a little outdated but this just added to its country charm. Everything was clean, fresh and smelt nice, fireplace going kept us nice and warm. Staff very friendly and full of local knowledge and history which keeps my dad happy. The Parmas were delicious,... Dropped in for dinner tonight. Only place in town serving dinner. Steak was well cooked and the portion was large. The pork belly was good but the veges were a little disappointing frozen mixed veges.

Have just spent two nights over the ANZAC weekend at the Golden Age. The food is fantastic and there is plenty of it. The service could not be better and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are well appointed and the beds very comfortable. We used Omeo as a base to visit other tourist attractions in the area. Loved... More

We were all famished by the time we got to the Golden Age Hotel for Saturday nght dinner. We all grabbed a cold drink from the big bar and ordered from the menu. I ordered the soup du jour which was potato & bacon, the scotch fillet medium rare and a side of steamed vegetables. 3 others at the table... More

We dropped in for lunch on our way to Bright. This hotel is fabulous. The decor and building itself take you back to a more stylish age. The restaurant is quite large and you can sit outside if you wish. The lunch meyis not huge ,yet caters for all. Small kids meals and HUGE adult meals. I had the chicken... More

Small crowded eating area. Very limited menu. Whether that was because of Easter I'm not sure. Our meals came fairly quickly We did order them at 6. One vegetarian dish but was told it was a Hot curry so chose linguini bolanaise which was ok. Hubby had scotch fillet with garlic prawns. Medium came out overcooked and well done so... More

Stayed ovenight in one of the spa rooms on the ground floot. The rooom was very clean and nicely presented. It was great to have an outside area to have a drink and read a book in the afternoon The only downside was that there were no windows that opened. However we were very comfortable.

The Golden Age is of an era past. Lots of wood panelling, high ceilings, wide hardwood decked verandah. So quiet and peaceful. The rooms are more than adequate for the price and location. Breakfast is a fixed menu of eggs and bacon, but it hits the spot. Overall we loved our stay and will stay there again.

I did not stay at the Golden Age Hotel as I preferred somewhere not on the main road through Omeo. I did however eat in the restaurant on the recommendation of the manager of the motel I stayed at and I was glad I did. I must say I did not have very high expectations of what the food would... We rode the motor bikes over Mount Hotham in the middle of summer and were "knocked out" by the scenery and the whole experience. We were looking forward to staying at the Golden Age because we had heard so much about it. Unfortunately our happy expectations were dashed. At check in a very unpleasant young man made us feel like intruders... More
