Room was great, bathroom recently update was terrific. Had lower expectations as it was on the main road but not a problem. Tea/coffee in room but were pleasantly surprised by the fully stocked breakfast room!!
We went straight to a local event so didn’t get room key during the day. When we rang the after hours number several times ther3 was no answer and had to find other accomodation. John the owner laughed at us the next day when we asked for a refund. No way he said. Very arrogant
I booked a room with John over the phone and was quoted $165.00 for the night. I was dissapointed to see that l had been charged $210.00 on my credit card. I contacted the Motel to determine why this was the case via their Facebook page, but received no response.
Beds were comfy and well made up hotel sheets. Everything clean and tidy , tea and coffee in the room & breakfast in / dining room with outdoor area was very handy indeed and a bonus . We had a lovely time chatting to other guests the next sunny morning, our dog which was allowed on request had a ball and was a real talking point and made to feel most welcome by our host Marg , who was fantastic to talk to, we found we had a lot in common. John was freindly and checked us in quickly over the phone.
What a great place to stay in the Macedon Ranges. We were central to many wineries and Mount Macedon gardens and loved the local Holgates Brewery and Mount Macedon Pub. Fantastic place to escape to for a mini weekend escape from Melbourne.
Despite what the website says this hotel is very overrated. Breakfast was virtually non existent; a few cereals which looked they were well past their use by date, no milk in kitchen area etc. Continental breakfast? I don’t think so! Room was fine though other guests’ dogs could be heard yapping at night. No sign of the owner; just phoned on arrival to be told room was unlocked. A matter of supply and demand. Overpriced at $170 per night.
I stayed here with my partner to have a couple of days off after driving home from Sydney and it was a great escape. Not far from the city which is awesome but far enough that you are in the country. The room was really nice and the bed super comfy. Dog friendly which was a massive bonus as we had our bulldogs. The staff were really nice too and took care of us really well. I would definitely come back for a weekend escape thanks John and team!
Booking was a breeze and once we arrived we were shown the room and where breakfast would be. Room was clean and bathroom had obviously had a very nice makeover. Bed very comfy and pillows were excellent. Breakfast is self serve and more than adequate.
Excellent clean rooms to accommodate our extended family over the weekend. Great feature for us was the well stocked " camp kitchen" where we wee able to cook our own breakfast at leisure. Our group included three generations of our family, and this motel catered to them all. The teen boys appreciated the basketball ring and unlimited cereal, bacon and eggs available. The teen girls fell in love with the owners two lovely King Charles spanials, and the King Parrots feeding at the bird feeder. The older adults appreciated the soft pillows and comfortable beds. We all loved the pretty bush setting and the peace and quiet.
Stayed at Black Forest Motel for 2 nights last week - (we were going to a Wedding at Mt Macedon) We were upgraded to a King Room, which was clean and large, plenty of room, the bathroom was renovated, and was excellent, very comfortable bed. The owner was Great- very friendly
