Absolutely loved this place. My Mum and I went in the middle of autumn and it was just so gorgeous. Nestled in between beautiful trees, nature, running creek. It was so quiet and exactly what we were after for a weekend away from Melbourne. The staff were super friendly and helpful and they had the cutest little dog too that... More

The cottages have been specially built to fit into mountain environment, they are roomy and comfortable with all the facilities supplied. To sit out on the deck in the morning and watch all the birds and hear the river is just so relaxing. The gardens are amazing adding to the peace and the feeling of a special place. The hosts... We didn't stay at the cottages but they look delightful - very tempting! We strolled through the park like gardens which are a credit to the hard working owner. It is such an attractive area and would be ideal for a quiet get a way.

These are beautiful well-maintained cottages with beautiful gardens and a wonderful array of local animals happy to visit any time of day. Rooms are spacious, bathroom clean and tidy, lounge room pleasant. Covered parking space next to cottage. Hosts readily available when needed and otherwise discrete. In January 2016 our family of 3 enjoyed our second stay in the 2BR cottage, and we've booked again for 2017. Shady Brook Cottages are nestled near a hillside set several hundred metres from the Great Alpine Road. The turnoff to the property is very close to the centre of Harrietville, so is very easy to find; a great location... More

We return year after year to this self-contained B&B apartment overlooking a stunning garden and the tree-covered slopes of Mt Hotham. We go in January for the annual Harrietville Music Camp, but Shady Brook cottages is also a good wintertime base for skiing on the mountain. There are stand-alone cottages set in the garden, but we stay in the 1st... More

We stayed in the apartment above the owners accomodation. They had children staying with them most of the time whilst we were there which made for a lot of thumping and bumping commencing at around 7.15am. Not a peaceful stay and would not recommend the apartment to anyone. Privacy was also a concern being above the owners residence. You would... More

The two bedroom spa B&B apartment with lounge is part of the main house and is clearly advertised that way. It has its own independent entrance onto a very large deck over looking a very large garden and mountain ranges its self contained and comes with continental breakfast. It was unfortunate on one morning we had children visit us early... More

My husband and another couple stayed 2 nights at the B&B in Autumn. It was very clean and the view were amazing but not worth $225 a night. The continental breakfast was small Kellogs boxes (that were out of use by date) with a loaf of bread, a selection of spreads and fruit. Couches were tinny and not a place... More
