We stayed for two nights and enjoyed immensely the cockatoos, kangaroos and deer outside our back door! We also enjoyed watching the feeding of kingfishers at the Lodge around twilight. The weather was freezing but our room was large, warm and immaculate. We loved it!

We stayed at the Kookaburra Motor Lodge for just one night but it was certainly a place to get back to. Very rustic feeling with modern comforts. Friendly and helpful staff. And wake-up to the view and sounds of local wildlife with the mountains in the background - kangurus, kookaburras, emus, deer, magpies, cockatoos, blackbird, honeyeater, etc

This old-style cottage is a bit dated, but the facilities are adequate and the location is fantabulous! We had a kukaberra sitting on our grill, cockatoos visiting regularly, and a kangaroo that seemed to live in our back yard and would come right close to where we were sitting on the deck to much the grass. Not being Australian natives,... More

We stayed here for a few days (this time is early June) like we do each year. The motel is very clean, very central and in a quiet no though road. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and towels changed each day. We had a cooked breakfast each morning which was great. Highly recommended.

I really like this motel, quiet set off the main street so no traffic noise..car parked out front of room and with the back rooms a sliding door opens up to own little patio overlooking the paddocks of kangaroos and cockatoos and those beautiful mountains..the room extremely clean and comfortable. I love to be able to walk to the cafes... More

We loved staying at the Kookaburra. This motel caters for people who like reading...good reading lamps over the beds and a really comfortable chair with lamp for afternoon reading and sewing. It was too cold to sit in the garden but I loved sitting inside and watching the nearby parrots and Kangaroos. I have had a tummy operation so appreciated... More

What a pleasant stay it was. We really enjoyed it. Location was fantastic and the natural settings around the property and especially at the back door of the cabin. Nice to sit out at the back with a drink where all kinds of local birds comes to talk to you. Plus the Kangaroos at the yard which is just outside... More

Comfortable rooms opening onto a small, fenced terrace with a front row view of a large field full of kangaroos, cockatoos, magpies, many other birds, and the occasional emu. Beyond the field are some of the dramatic hills of the Grampians. The stars at night are amazing--we saw the Milky Way. Well located too--right in town so just steps away... More
