Riverside caravan park is exceptional quality. The grounds are neat as a pin looking over the river bank.
Easy walk into town. There is an IGA in town should you need supplies before setting up camp.
The welcoming manager made our stay fantastic with great suggestions of local attractions, walks, places of interest nearby. The management of this park could not be faulted
The facilities were so clean. The bathrooms were well set out with plenty of hanging hooks in the showers, really clean toilets and spray bottles of disinfectant for each shower.
The camp kitchen had a very good set up. There were plenty of BBQ spots.
There are options for powered and unpowered sites as well as ensuites for those that need this facility.
There are also a few cabins available for rent.
Given the exceptional quality of all the facilities, we found the $40/night for the powered site very reasonable indeed.

We stayed on a powered ensuite site, WOW! I was pleasantly surprised, for an extra $10 we got an ensuite with a spacious shower, basin and a toilet separated by a door. The shower was nice & hot with good water pressure and was spotless.
The sites were lovely grassed spacious areas and the camp kitchen was amazing, so big and immaculate with full size ovens, and plenty of bench space and even a TV.
At night the children experienced some possums which was very exciting for them.
I would highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed.

The Island Star Caravan Owners Club had a week long catch up here with 10 couples. David made our stay very special from organising a 4x4 trip to the Little Dessert national park, setting up amazing communal campfires and organising Lions Club to provide a large, mobile bbq for our use. We were all together on huge, grassed sites. The amenities are very clean and there's a fantastic camp kitchen. We were lucky to be there for the Dimboola Agricultural Show over on the ocean/show grounds which flank the park. The Wimmera river runs along one side of the park with pontoons allowing great access for fishing, swimming and kayaking. This was our 3rd visit and we are booked again for next year in our way from Adelaide to the Victorian High Country

This Holiday (Caravan) Park is located in peaceful and quiet grounds on the banks of Wimmera river.
We stayed in one of the reasonably new two bedroom cabins. The cabin itself was clean and well equipped with utensils you may find handy during your stay. It has a reversed air conditioning, and a larger flat screen TV. There are also two two persons comfortable divans, one facing the TV. The bedrooms are tiny, to say at least, equipped with tiny, cheap looking piece of "furniture" big enough to put your glasses on. And, there is nowhere to store your belongings as there are no built in wardrobes. The interior of the cabin is stark with bare walls and not really cozy. The toilet has no ventilation! The bathroom has a modern shower but it is very awkward to get in and not get scolded or not to allow the water escape the shower recess on the floor. For a smaller person it is really very difficult to adjust the shower head.
One would put up with these things if the price was right. However at $155 a night this accommodation is so inflated that one wonders what the Shire which apparently owns the Park wants to achieve. To chase the weary travellers away? No RACV discounts, no Senior Card holders discounts, no Concession Card discounts! Just pure greed!
At this tariff I am afraid that I cannot recommend this accommodation.

I booked this park with an ensuite site as were were having water issues with our van and thought it would be nice to be able to still shower on our last day on our trip. The cost for a powered van site was advertised online at $37 per night with ensuite site at $56. However when booking by phone I was told it was $60 . When I questioned this I was told that I had to pay for extra amenities. On arrival at park I was not happy to find an old building with a broken window, no rails of shelves, screws still in wall. Rotting bottom of toilet door. Tiny shower with a very slippery base. Consequently my husband slipped getting out of shower and smashed his face on the floor, his nose is lacerated and probably broken. There was minimal lighting in the park and no working light outside ensuite or on our site pillar. Very bad ! Was blatantly ripped off and despite the park having a pleasant feel would never return or recommend. About time the park buildings are updated so that patrons are kept safer !

Stayed in 2 bedroom "luxury" rather new cabin. Lovely setting. And very peaceful. At $180 per night, off season. Some annoying issues, No hairdryer, no soap provided. No Tea towel. No salt and pepper, missing those usual basics, and no information provided. Bush Fire and smoke nearby.
And a crazy kookaburra that smashes itself into the window repeatedly morning and late afternoon. They knew , but never warned us.
Reception, girl was following rules.
Man treated customers as if they are going to leave without paying? Attitude, inconsiderate re unable to drive in and park at reception. Requested us to park behind the building and walk around Boom gate to reception and insisted we must pay first before they open boom gate ? My friend 80, has bad knees unable to walk far, they did not care! We were tired, after driving all day.
Got off to a non friendly start!
Not exactly "luxury" "by Australian standards. High impractical awful down ceiling shower head. Can't reach or adjust or keep hair dry. Bad design.
Modern clean cabin, and beds were fresh, clean and comfortable.
Having ceiling fans in both rooms, and reverse air cond. helped enormously during the 41° hot day, and warm nights. Love Dimboola park and surrounds. NOTE: People who book luxury cabins, are not likely to steal hair-dryers? As was explained to me when I told reception that cabin had no hair dryer?

Large flat grassy sites . The manager was so busy that he forgot his manners when booking us in. Double booked our site. Unfortunately, there was a Coromel caravan convention that dominated the park and claimed one of the camp kitchens for themselves. The remaining camp kitchen only had one working stove and fridge and had no utensils, pots, pans, or appliances. I wondered if these items were relocated by the convention people. On the up side, the kitchen and toilets were very clean, and the grounds and gardens were well maintained.

Manager was extremely rude when called back when we wanted to do the honest thing to pay for overnight stay - suggest advising on voicemail message or sign at reception that you do not accept after hour check-ins (which is also ridiculous). Suggest also to not be so rude to those that are doing the right thing. Disgusting.
Park is small, trains are loud, camping is on a road, heaps of missiles, and no swimming in the river.

Needed a place on the road late at night and saw that booking was available online with late check-in times as an option. I paid online and rocked up; the park was quite empty, so we set up camp in an open area. We slept, and on the way out in the morning, a staff member approached us aggressively and treated us like criminals. Booking after 6 pm is not a thing even though the website lets you do it. The dude needs to chill. We had a laugh on the way out at Mr grumpy gills. Good times.

If it’s stressful for people to book online with late-night slots, I’d suggest updating that to avoid it in the future and ease up on those that need a safe place to sleep. Needless to say, we won’t be staying here again.

We enjoyed eleven days at Riverside in our caravan while visiting family. The sites are flat and grassy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The booking process and arrangements are a breeze compared to a lot of other parks. The weather fantastic. We had fun days at the river and swimming pool (which is next door). Long early morning treks with the dogs along local walking tracks were enjoyable.
Dimboola itself is a very chilled town with good coffee, a supermarket and take-aways. Favourite food spot though was Mr Lee's Vietnamese Cafe at Nhill. Awesome food and worth the drive. Riverside makes a great base to explore the rest of the district's attractions.

We would like to camp at the Park over Easter. Are we allowed to have a fire at our campsite?
Answer from KatColbert

Hi Belinda, We have fire drums available for hire at the Park. They are $15 to hire. Wood is also available. We ask that any fires are kept in the designated drums or camps in the Park. We are still in fire restrictions here, so some rules may apply depending on the weather over Easter. Contact our Caretaker Bruce on 53891416 and he can help you further. Thanks!

There are 10 powered sites with ensuites, as well as 40 normal powered sites and 40+ non-powered sites. All sites are grassed after the recent redevelopment of the park.
