Barnsley House is a grand old lady who has been lovingly restored with a perfect balance of old world charm and modern amenities. Steve and Eileen are the perfect hosts. On arrival, we were greeted and shown through the house and explained her history. Very interesting as a history buff. We've just come to the end of our four night... More

A welcoming afternoon tea with freshly made muffins, open fires and complimentary port, a comfortable, well appointed room with everything you need and a delicious breakfast each day with menu choices including whiskey porridge with cream and cinnamon sugar. Another very delightful (third) stay at Barnsley House confirms the quality of this historic B&B. We stayed in the Albert king suite with its huge comfy bed and well equipped ensuite. Our hosts Eileen and Steve were attentive but not intrusive. Their restaurant recommendations and assistance with bookings were greatly appreciated. The cooked breakfasts are terrific, and the open fire... More

This B&B is lovely place to stay where care for guests is the absolute priority. We were made to feel so welcome. Our accommodation was great, breakfasts were scrumptious, location close to the main centre was excellent. We'd love to return!

Charming B&B, Steve and Elaine are excellent hosts. Rooms are tastefully decorated with modern amenities . Breakfast menu changes daily, and served around a large kitchen table with a 'proper coffee' machine. Walking distance to restaurants and the torch provided is very handy for the walk home. We really enjoyed Barnsley House.
