This is a great location close to the freeway with spectacular views. The room was extremely comfortable and charming. The location is rural even with its location close to the freeway so we had to travel for dinner about 20 minutes. Breakfast was produced on site and was very good. The furniture in the room was elegant and in good condition. There was no in room thermostat control. WIFI on site provided expected connections. The common area which was also the dinning area was comfortable with room for several guests. We spent our morning before breakfast on the rear porch overlooking the valley.

This place just begs you to relax with its lovely accommodations and views. Mirtha (co-owner) was the hostess who made us feel welcome and tended to our check-in. She also prepared & served a great breakfast with coffee, juice, fruit, french toast, a miniature omelet, and more. The room we had looked out over the bluff seen in the photo showing rear of the lodge. We had a corner room which had one clear window facing that bluff, but the other window (side) had so much ivy growing on it, it was difficult seeing anything out it. And, the enclosed space downstairs (seen from the conference room) was almost like a huge terrarium with plants, rocks, etc, but no more water running through it. I suppose because the dryer weather and peak heat of the summer dried up the source. That said, it did not affect our visit and the hospitality we felt while staying there.

My tween and teen sons and I stayed here on our first night of spring break as it was close to the waterfall hikes we planned to do in middle TN. The B&B is easy to get to, yet so secluded feeling. It sits on a bluff, and the views from the short trail on the property were stunning. The room was clean, very old fashioned, and nice. The hostess Mirtha was kind and gracious. The breakfast in the morning was really tasty and they accomodate any dietary needs. They even made me a gluten free waffle! I recommend this b&b for the location and hospitality.

We stayed at The Garden Inn for 2 nights. Mike and Martha are great hosts providing suggestions for things to do in the area, as well as restaurants to eat at, complete with directions. The Inn was very clean, breakfast was wonderful and all rooms have a great view. The hike to Bee Rock was an added bonus. We will definitely be back!!!

This is a unique bed & breakfast in that it is located in a more rural setting and has a natural, scenic 100 ft. drop behind the house. It is quiet and peaceful there with really beautiful mountain views. We thought it would be especially stunning in the fall when the leaves change.
They had a good selection of first floor rooms, if you are trying to avoid stairs. It is clean and nicely decorated.
The innkeeper is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was typical B & B fare.
A restaurant recommendation while staying here would be to drive to Cookeville, TN (20-25 min. drive) to Mauricio's for a super Italian meal. The innkeeper will call and make the reservations for you.

We spent a night recently at the Garden Inn. The view from our room, the Sunflower Room, was fantastic. The room was clean, the service was great and the breakfast was delicious.
The leaves were just starting to change, but I would imagine that a visit there in late October would feature beautiful fall foliage.
The location is very convenient to I-40 and there are many places to visit in the area. We took a short walk to Bee Rock from the Inn, visited Muddy Pond and Big South Fork. I would stay here again when in the area.

It was a last minute decision, but a first class choice. How lucky were we to get rooms when we'd only the day before decided to make this a leg of our trip with another couple? Our hosts welcomed us as if we were visiting royalty. Such comfortable rooms, each with an astounding view; a breezy deck to watch the stars; spot-on local recommendations; breakfast that catered to dietary restrictions (on that short notice!).
The list could go on and on. Just don't make this a last minute choice - you may not be as lucky as we were.

My teenager and I stayed here for two nights last week. It's a nice inn, out of the way which made it a very quiet and relaxing spot, yet not far from Cookeville and various restaurants. I spent a bit of time chatting with the owners, Mike and Mirtha, who were very sweet and accommodating. Mirtha took special note of food preferences. For example, my daughter didn't eat the pineapple in her fruit bowl, so she made sure not to include pineapple on day 2. The grounds were lovely and the room quite comfortable. Will definitely stay here again over a chain hotel.

Thank you for your most kind words - and noticing the attention we give to our guests' needs. Looking forward to your return stay at The Garden Inn the next time you visit the Cumberland Plateau. We'd love to take another stroll with you down memory lane revisiting those "older" TV shows. Our best to you and your family.

This B&B is very well maintained and clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The room was simple and uncluttered. The views were outstanding. The hosts were incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and offered suggestions for restaurants and sight seeing. Mike and his wife were extremely friendly and inviting. The breakfast was very good. I would recommend it to anyone coming into the area. It was quiet and comfortable. If I find myself in the area will be staying again.

i had occasion to spend an evening at the Garden Inn last week while traveling in Tennessee. It was a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful, spotless and had everything I needed. Breakfast was delicious and the views from my room were phenomenal. It was a lovely tranquil setting where I sat on the deck and took in the valley below for quite a while. Most of all, Mike and Mirtha were very pleasant and I enjoyed chatting and visiting with them; they were so hospitable and helpful. I would certainly recommend the B&B and would seek it out again if I ever were in the area. Thanks again!

Answer from Mirtha and Mike K
Hi Bobby, Since we promise an allergy free environment we only permit service animals while they accompany their human counterpart. There are a few nice kennels within a fifteen minute drive of The Inn, if you wish to utilize their services. Mike
