The Monteagle Inn is our escape. We always have enjoyed getting away from the Nashville/Middle Tennessee area to this picturesque, calming, and revitalizing bed and breakfast inn. Jim and Lee are always so accomodating and the hospitality provided by the staff is second to none. Josh booked our reservation, followed up with us prior to arrival to confirm amenities, and cooked an excellent mountain breakfast the next morning. Lynnette took us on a detailed and informative tour of the beautiful grounds and blooming gardens that the inn uses to grow many of their own cooking herbs. She was also an excellent resource for local activities and can cook a delightful French toast with homemade berry syrup breakfast. The inn truly does have a charm all its own. Whether you enjoy the bookshelved, chessboarded, fireplaced, curio laden lounge, the the snack room, the outside decks and patio, the dining room, the enclosed gazebo garden, the peaceful balconied rooms (Laurel Trails #9), or the wine (and cheese) platter, you will certainly leave feeling refreshed. We love coming up for a few days and making the inn central to enjoying the many hiking and biking trails around the area, the Gothic architecture and Arboretum of Sewanee/The University of the South, The Amish Hippie gift shop, The Mountain Goat Market and Al Capone's High Point Restaurant. Thank you Monteagle Inn for continuing to serve and remain an open haven during the Spring of 2020. We will continue to support this beautiful gem on "The Mountain"…
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Monteagle Inn. I slept so well. The entire staff was top notch and breakfast was delightful. I would happily return to the Inn. It looks like a perfect place to host an intimate wedding
We came to the beautiful Monteagle Mountain area to see Moon Taxi play music at The Caverns. OMG this was such a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Built in the 40's and added on as time went by, this is now one of our favorite B&B's. Words can't describe the beauty of it here.
We spent only one night but would certainly return. We arrived for a Saturday night show at the Caverns. From the first moment, we felt welcomed and relaxed. The location is convenient to the interstate and allows quick access to all the outdoor activities in the area or to Sewanee. Several local food options are near with one adjacent to the inn. We settled in with some wine, relaxed, and enjoyed one very comfortable night.
Happy birthday to me! My sister and I got away for a wonderful visit to the Monteagle Inn & Retreat Center in late November and loved everything about our stay. This was my second visit - my husband and I celebrated an anniversary there about a year ago and had such a great time. The staff made us feel welcome from our check-in to check-out. The inn is immaculate, quiet, and quite perfect in every way. I must admit I'm baffled by the reviewer who complained about the breakfast. I assume he/she didn't stick around long enough for the made-to-order hot breakfast along with the fresh cut fruit, delicious pastries, and so much more. It was absolutely fabulous! One of the best B&Bs on the planet. We'll be back!
