We, like many others, have had to cancel overseas trips and this is our go to place to stay the night before as this is where our holiday starts. Service was great as usual, we had dinner and drinks (as we always do) in Biggles bar which has been revamped (Please bring back the bar tables and stools!) and the service could not be faulted. We enquired about an early breakfast and the staff member sent a text message to his staff to ensure we had our breakfast delivered before our shuttle picked us up. Now that is service. Breakfast is only available in your room, and it was great. We love this airport hotel and look forward to another domestic trip soon.

I stayed at this hotel recently for a short work trip. Normally when staying at other Holiday Inn hotels as an IHG Platinum member there is an offer of a free drink voucher on check in, but this hotel offered no recognition of membership loyalty aside from 500 welcome bonus points. Not even a free bottle of water in the room. My room rate included breakfast and understandably they are only offering room service at the present time due to the COVID restrictions. This was the most disappointing aspect of the stay with only two choices offered. I chose the hot breakfast and it was delivered in a paper bag with plastic cutlery, with the luke warm food and cold toast thrown in a polystyrofoam container. Normally they charge $17 for this! When I complained at the front desk I was advised that this new and improved way of delivering room service was a health recommendation. Suffice to say, the next morning I ate at the Coffee Club down the road and enjoyed a much nicer breakfast. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport only last month and they were still offering a full room service menu with a variety of choices and delivered on an actual plate with metal cutlery. I find it strange that Holiday Inn Sydney Airport can’t do the same, particularly when other cafes and restaurants are now open again. Aside from this issue, the room itself was comfortable.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your in room dining. The safety of our colleagues and guests is our key priority during this time. Given the high transmission risks associated with Covid-19, we have designed our in room dining to be served with single use packaging to protect and mitigate the risk of exposure. I do however note your comments regarding the lack of choice and the temperature of the meal. We pride ourselves on the variety and quality of our meals, so we will most certainly review this. Need to pull up service standards. Missing the basics.... definitely need upgrade in many areas. There are so many options to choose from.around the Airport so will be exploring the options in future travel (if any).

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Sydney Airport in June and July 2019. We caught the train from Central Station to Mascot and it was a short walk to the hotel. Despite it being around 1pm (Saturday), we found it very hard to find anything to eat. There wasn't anything open apart from a corner store, so when it came to dinner it meant room service. I had assumed our room would have a view of the airport as I'm a keen plane watcher, but unfortunately we were on the side of the building that looked out towards the Adina Apartments and plane spotting was very limited. I wish I had queried this before booking. The next morning we easily got a taxi outside of the hotel for our trip across to the domestic terminal. On our return home, we were booked into the Holiday Inn but our flight was going to be delayed by two hours. I called ahead from Perth mid afternoon and explained the situation. The desk was still manned (close to 11.15pm at night) but doors locked. We were let in easily. We didn't spend much time in the hotel room before checking out the next morning, but both stays were pleasant and the room service was lovely. The only disappointment was that the hotel seemed to be more dated than what I thought it would be having looked at the photos prior to booking. Both rooms however were exceptionally clean and had an assortment of appropriate pillows.
