This has a nice outlook across Manly Beach. Service nothing special. Ok for meals, poor at bar. Food was basic in all aspects; Presentation, quality and serving size. Salmon was close to tasteless. Steak was served in a watery sauce

Stopped in for lunch. There were four of us and we ordered our meals at the same time. Two of the meals were available after a bit of a wait, but our pager remained silent. Our companions had just about finished their meal so I went to investigate. Our meals were sitting in the hold warm area. No explanation, no...

Haven't been here for years, lots of renovations. Not many staff on clearing tables. The breeze was cool our orders too some time. Bathrooms needed a clean. It was crowded due to the heat and being a Sunday but not bad overall, it is a Manly icon.

Good pub, many different beers on the menu as same as the drinks. During the day you can also have lunch while enjoy a great view of the beach. You can also enjoy the games around such as ping pong and pool. Its a good place to spend the night out in Manly, but the night ends exactly at 2am....

Rude, arrogant bartender that can't even poor a good pint. Beer was flat by the time I got back to the table. Management and other staff members were very helpful and polite, quick to fix the issue. Good food and a great view just avoid the curly headed brunette bartender, you can pick her by her attitude.

We had several meals and they were all ok for pub food. Not great but ok. They were a little pricey for pub food but the location demands a premium I guess. Would go back but maybe try something else next time. And $8.60 for a corona is a bit steep!

Do not be put off by the drab façade of this old pub, I assume the local Council has seen some heritage value in this old red brick building and has presumably refused any attempt at rebuilding. What a shame! This prime site deserves a modern building to enhance the streetscape and utilise the potentially magnificent views over the water....

Reserved a room at this hotel on Bookings.com . When we turned up to check into our room. The security rejected our booking. We hadn't been drinking at the establishment or caused any trouble just politely turned up with our bags and asked the staff where we could check in. The reason given for the refusal, was because we had...

Sunday lunchtime was busy, the food was lovely, the company better, the view over the road to the ocean is from childhood... we come here whenever we are in town ... maybe once every couple of years via ferry from Circular Quay to make a waterway day out on and around the harbour... beautiful.

Staying in Manly

Neighborhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbor Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
