We stayed for a wedding. The room was well appointed and check in was polite and efficient. Its a truly fascinating place. Only problem was breakfast, utter shambles! We were asked to book a time, there was already too many people in a small place. It was a buffet style, which in my opinion is not covid safe, with so many guests milling around in close proximity. The food was not being replenished, not enough plates and all this for $30 per person. I would stay again but not for breakfast

This is an interesting location to stay, so much history & the views of the harbour are magnificent. The room was comfortable & we were lucky enough to have access to both verandahs from our room. The shuttle bus service works well & all the staff are friendly & helpful and there is a lot of walking i f you want to discover all the history. The Boilerhouse Restaurant service was great & food excellent. We had High Tea at the G & Teahouse, the location sitting on the verandah was lovely but for the price the food was underwhelming, the scones weren't proper scones & the little cakes were similar to the small cakes purchased at Woolworths but the cup of tea was a good one. Still a great place to stay.

I arrived on a Saturday for a weekend stay. I was in the P12 block, a room with an ensuite. I didn't have a view to the harbour but it was really only on Saturday afternoon after I had checked in that I was at my room, except of course for sleeping. There was a wedding on the Saturday and lots of family groups checking in but it never felt busy or noisy. I had a delicious meal at the Boilerhouse on Saturday night and afterwards did the ghost tour - no paranormal experiences for me. On Sunday I did the history tour which was interesting, checked out the museum, lunched at the Boilerhouse Bar, pottered around the grounds, and ended up at the G&T for tea and cake. I enjoyed breakfast on Monday before I departed. I came to and from Manly on the local bus (161) which runs once an hour and the stop is right outside the hotel entrance. Oh and saw a whale off the wharf on Sunday. If I had to be in quarantine somewhere I'd be happy to spend longer here at this historic site.

We just stayed on Monday night in a 3 bedroom cottage. It is a wonderful place to stay, so much interesting history, relaxing walks nd so quiet! If you stay in the cottages you can drive your car in. If you're a family who walks a lot you really don't need to rely on the shuttle if you stay anywhere on site anyway. Did the 15+ ghost tour and well worth it. It was not 'fake or silly' but genuinely historical and hugely entertaining with all the stories. It's definitely scary so I can see how it's 15+ Ate in the casual dining area, service was quick and food tasty. Info sent a few days before checkin was really thorough and I can't fault the service delivery anywhere on the Q station. The only negative I can see is during busy times due to hotel rooms looking to be so close together and small breakfast area etc...

Wow. This place is amazing. We stayed here thinking that this would be a relaxing holiday close to Sydney. We looked forward to stand-up-paddle boarding, snorkelling, swimming at a very sheltered beach... we did all of this and it was very relaxing. The only thing that we missed were the penguins at Little Collins Beach. Our accommodation was basic but good. Our room looked out over Manly North Shore and the sunsets were amazing over the water. There was a real bush feel too as we were amongst the tree tops. We are at the Boilerhouse Restaurant and the food was AMAZING! Get yourself an Accor card for the 50% discount on food. When the ferries are running on normal timetables, you can nip into Sydney city or Manly for dinner via the dock at Q Station. We recommend Queen Chow or Hugo’s in the Manly wharf. What we did not anticipate was that Q Station really is an historic representation of the old Quarantine Station. There was history everywhere. We did the history tour and the ghost tour, which was well worth it. We walked up to the third Quarantine cemetery and got lost... finding ourselves at the delicious Bella Vista hotel with great food and views. We walked through the old Barracks and had a chance encounter with the Queen’s carriage maker! Finally, my tip is to do the ghost tour on the last night of your stay and take lots of photos. We saw faces in our photos the next day, which freaked us out. We also became more aware of spiritual encounters after that. My husband saw a spirit on the stairs leading up from the beach. I saw a spirit on the wharf. We believe that both were nurses. I also had an encounter on the beach where I could hear a mother shushing a child but there was nobody around. This was an absolutely glorious trip!
