We stayed here in May 2016 and it was our first time. I researched thoroughly and read all reviews on TripAdvisor. It sounded like the perfect place for us. Not fancy but clean and safe and the staff (Consueolo Te Amo!) are beyond helpful. From Consuelo, the hotel manager to Ceazar the groundskeeper/maintenance man to Maddy, our maid - we...

We ended up booking this hotel last minute. It was late, the first one we really could find. The first room we were in smelled very humid and muggy. Also the key chain door lock broke. They only have standard lock and key. We asked for another room. This room was OK, the towels were very old, the blankets they...

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel and Suites Mar Y Sol Las Palmas many times over the past 10 years. We have stayed in various units and have been pleased with all of them. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel if you are looking for that type of a rating with the hotel people....but...

This is our third visit at this lovely Mexican hotel. We usually get a suite but our last minute flights prevented same but booked a room with which they provided a fridge, toaster and coffee maker which took care of at least two meals a day for those wanting light fare. As usual, the place is clean and tidy with...

Second time staying at Mar Y Sol and it is a very good place to stay in Guayabitos. Nothing fancy at all but it's clean and safe and it's within walking distance to the shops and beach. Chello works the front office and speaks very good english and is very helpful and cheerful. Little things are different in Mexico and...

We have just returned home after another wonderful 2 month stay at The Mar Y Sol Las Palmas in Guayabitos. This hotel has been our favorite place to stay in Guayabitos for many years now! This hotel has a great location, close to everything! But the BEST thing about this home away from home is the wonderful friendly helpful staff...

My wife and I have stayed at the Mar y Sol now each February since 2002, and wouldn`t stay anywhere else. Of course now when we arrive, the staff which is fairly permanent know you by name and speak very good english (even tho they dont think so) Trouble is we dont get a change to practise out Spanish. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year. The rooms are pretty rustic, but very clean. The beds are like sleeping on the floor. But the town and beach are like a home away from home. This is not a resort, but rather an old fashioned beach town. The hotel itself is occupied (in winter) by 90% retired...

One block from the beach. Beds are as hard as sleeping on the floor:( ,so you may want to pack something for cushion. Next time we would stop at the Mega store in PV to pick up a few things as the kitchen units are very limited in what they have so you may want to pick up the following...

“No worries about sound as all seem to be equal. If you want a suite, the ones beachside (I mean a half block away) have decks on the street as well but seem unused as poolside are prime. If you have bambinos, there is a great play area.”

“Ask for a balcony and a kitchen and if possible an ocean view. Second floor is nice, 3rd floor is a hike at the end of the day or if you have trouble with stairs. Ground floor is okay, but ask for a room off the main walk way if you can.”
