Set like a moonstone in the abundant palm forests which frame the idyllic village of San Pancho, the Inn at San Pancho offers abundant gardens, charming casitas, and a cascade pool. Embraced by the colors of Mexico, with jaunty peacock blue skies each morning, and the gaudy sprawl of sunset ushering in each star-filled night, this enchanting Inn with its spectacular vistas weaves days that unfold like magic, and spins memories that will cling forever.

We had a great stay at the Inn at San Pancho! Tory and Eileen were so welcoming and gave great recommendations for places to go and food to eat. Their dogs Dolly and Ella are adorable, too. The property is beautiful, and you wouldn’t know you’re in the middle of town - it feels like a tropical escape. The pool is salt-water and heated just enough, and the whole place just has a warm vibe. The casita was clean and well-maintained, with everything we needed, including ac. It’s a 5 min walk to the main street where the shops and restaurants are, and another 5 or so to the beach. We loved our stay!

The Inn at San Pancho is a sanctuary in paradise. We loved our airy, spacious casita with its huge balcony, and the gorgeous gardens and salt-water pool. The owners are incredibly warm and accommodating and their sweet little pets — two dogs and one cat — are the icing on the cake.

We returned to the Inn at San Pancho after a few years away - covid, etc. - and were delighted to find it as beautiful, quiet and pristine as we remembered it. PLUS they've installed a pool heater which was REALLY nice. Eileen and Tory were in fine fettle and welcomed us back with their ubiquitous warmth and humor. We have already booked our next season visit.

Just spent a very relaxing week at the Inn. Eileen and Tori are very hospitable and go out of their way assuring guest comfort. The immaculate grounds are lush with flowers, palms and bird life. The saltwater pool is heated and many lounge chairs to relax. Excellent breakfast/lunch restaurant and bread store nearby. Away from the crowds and noise of the town, but only a few blocks away. Be mindful that there are many stairs to navigate from the street to the grounds.

My wife and I were very comfortable in the casita just a short walk from the pool. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and the space itself had a view of the Ocean. We're quite surprised by all the food options in town as my wife is a gluten free vegetarian. We are hoping to get back to the Inn at San Pancho again next year.

The Inn at San Pancho has become our go-to yearly retreat from the cold and gray of winter in New England . The quiet serenity of our casita (this year it was Nopal), the gardens and the pool are exactly what we want on our vacation and the walk into town to shop and eat - and be recognized by waitstaff! - is a delight.

My wife, Trish, and I felt so welcomed by Eileen and Tori, that we knew we had found a home away from home. Eileen is so humorous and engaging, and Tori is so vivacious, we fell in love with them immediately. We had booked Casita Chica, the smallest casita at the Inn. But right away, the ladies upgraded us to Casita Nopal, a spacious casita with an outdoor palapa. They didn’t charge us extra for the upgrade. They just wanted us to feel comfortable. Their thoughtfulness and generosity are simply awe inspiring. The ladies have added so many amenities to the property. The jewel of the inn is the blue tiled pool which can take your breath away. I can’t recommend this getaway enough.

I stumbled upon The Inn at San Pancho on a blog I read. I really had no intention of a trip to Mexico and had never heard of San Francisco aka San Pancho. It sounded so relaxing and tranquil, and a non “all inclusive” type of resort town. I was drawn to book for some much needed rest, relaxation and quiet. The Inn was amazing and provided what we needed. Set in a beautiful garden are 5 casitas. Authentically decorated with thought and comfort. Just like a home away from home! The pool was clean and perfect for after beach refreshments. Birds and butterfly’s peace and quiet! Both the owners (Eileen and Tory )were extremely helpful, and made us feel like family. What a gem of a find. Mucho Gracias! We would 100 percent return !

The Nayarit Riviera, the necklace of pueblos north of Puerto Vallarta that rims the Pacific, is arguably the most serene and beautiful stretch of ocean front in Mexico. And arguably the most peaceful and friendly of these pueblos is San Francisco, known to all as San Pancho. (In Mexico, if your name is Francisco, your nickname is almost invariably Pancho; think Pancho Villa!) And, arguably, the most beautiful, private, and meditative place to stay there is the hacienda known as the Inn at San Pancho. This is my 16th visit to the Inn since 2013, and I have written three prior reviews on this site, including one last year when I spent a total of 5 months at the Inn. I initially booked Dec 1 to Mar 31 and returned to my home in Chicago for vaccinations and income tax filing. But after a frigid and gloomy April in Chicago, I returned to the Inn for the month of May! But make no mistake, the great metropolis of Chicago is an urban paradise six months of the year, the finest and most beautiful city in the USA. San Pancho is a beachfront paradise, the yin to the yang of Sweet Home Chicago. I am now in the midst of another 5-month stay here, escaping the Chicago winter again! Each of my reviews of the Inn at San Pancho was laudatory, and it is with good reason that the Inn at San Pancho is ranked #1 among B&Bs and Inns in San Pancho. The hacienda has four unique casitas: Villa V (two bedrooms and a full kitchen), Agave (a one-bedroom apartment with kitchen and a lovely covered veranda, my favorite), Nopal (also a one-bedroom apartment with kitchen and an outdoor patio), and Chica (a charming palapa-roofed cottage with outstanding views of the pueblo and the ocean). Over the years (most of my visits were winter break and spring break when I was a working college professor in Chicago), I have stayed in each of the casitas and each is lovely and comfortable. My family members and other guests during my many stays here have thoroughly enjoyed their visits. As to the Inn overall, it is very private and secure (in a very secure and peaceful pueblo). It is up a small hill from the main avenue of the village (Calle Tercer Mundo) and affords sweeping views of the pueblo, the ocean, and the surrounding hills and jungle. The grounds are lush with flowers and tropical vegetation (many species of palm trees, for example). And the pool, now heated to 80 deg as noted in another review, is simply beautiful, with amazing views of the hills and jungle to the east. The innkeepers, Eileen and Tory, are very intelligent, interesting, and welcoming people who truly value their guests. They have become friends as well. The staff are superb: Sylvia, the diligent, funny, and friendly housekeeper, Juan, a truly intuitive gardener who tends the grounds, and Ramon, the pool keeper, also friendly, skilled, diligent. The pueblo of San Pancho itself is remarkable and full of activities and opportunities: a mile of mostly empty, beautiful, and surf-able beach, a nature preserve elevated from the beach, interesting and approachable boutiques and craft shops, and, for a village of just 1400 people, amazingly good restaurants. My top five are Limbo, Bistro Organico, La Floresta (a block from the Inn), Ikan Cocina Marina, and Pezetarian MX. If you enjoy the beautiful hibiscus flowers all over the grounds of the Inn, you might love the hibiscus tacos at Limbo (hibiscus are known as jamaica flowers in Mexico; yes, like the Caribbean island). But there are at least a dozen other appetizing (and inexpensive) restaurants and taco stands in the village. Los Arbolitos, a bricks-and-mortar taco stand, is a personal favorite. I recommend the Inn at San Pancho, the pueblo of San Francisco, and the Nayarit Riviera with enthusiasm and great affection.

The title says it. I have previously reviewed this fantastic property, but wanted to include an important update. During the past year, Tory and Eileen have added a pool heater to their already lovely swimming pool. This is a game changer. The pool used to be (brrrr) --- er, "refreshing!" Now it's just "ahhhhh" -- a warm 80 degrees or so. Great addition.
