My boyfriend and I booked five nights at this hostel between the 28th of December and the 3rd of January. We booked a private room on booking.com for a total of 500€. The pictures looked good and we understood that the price went up because of the time of the year. However, when we got there we realized that the room had nothing to do with the pictures we had seen and the price of the room felt completely unjustified. We wanted to cancel our reservation and look for something else. However, the manger offered us to move to the suite which was priced 10€ extra per night. We took his offer as this suite room was much more specious and looked a bit better than our previous room. The room turned out to be very noisy since it was just bellow a courtyard with ten rosters in it. Meaning, that every evening, night and mornings we heard rosters screaming just below our window which by the way, did not fully close. In addition, the water was not working too full morning in a row and the breakfast included in the price was made of a few fruits, a small piece of cake and coffee. For 110€/night, even around this time of the year and not in such a special location, Hostel San Pancho is incredibly over priced and uncomfortable. On top of that, one of the receptionist was very rude and tried to make us pay more than what we had agreed on.

The only reason we do not give it 5 stars is that there is no bar or even beverage service. But the atmosphere is both casual and elegant. Every corner is well lighted with views of the surrounding terrain, and flowers are everywhere. The managers are friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are delicious and creative in real Mexican style, served by the lovely Karla. There is a very nice small pool for bathing and relaxing. We highly recommend Casa San Pancho and we will always return. This was our second stay.

San Pancho lacks accommodation in peak season so we stayed here. We paid $75 a night for a room here and actually it was pretty good. We had a room at the end of the hallway which had a little balcony. Maybe this is the premium room but it's worth getting it for the extra light and space. The bedrooms that look on to the hallway do not look as good. A point to remember is that the toilet and shower is in the room. So you will be very close to your room mate- so maybe stay off the seafood tacos etc! The wifi is good and the breakfast was basic but good - fruit with a delicious piece of banana and nut cake. Fresh juices and coffee too. I agree with others, it's a good 15 minute walk to the beach but on the other hand it's really close to where the bus drops you off. Overall I can recommend this place.

Way better than you'd expect from a typical hostel, especially the rooms upstairs. Peaceful atmosphere and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Only a 10-minute walk to the beach off the main road.

Stayed almost a week at San Pancho hostal. Our room was great, the crew is the coolest in town, breakfasts are great and simple and we got to meet lots of nice people. And on top of that they offer trips to Islas Marietas, which is not to be missed, while in the area. We'll be back at Hostal San Pancho, for sure!
