This is an excellent base for a tour round mid Wales. Rooms absolutely fine and good value, lots of hot water etc, but what makes this place stand out is the excellent food and the general vibe in the public rooms on the ground floor. Excellent meals were had, with the Welsh speciality sea trout featuring prominently (in season until... More

Had an overnight stay here, the same night the scooter boys (below) were there. Room was large and clean, as was the bathroom. We did dine in the restaurant and it was EXCELLENT. My wife said the sirloin steak was the best she'd ever had (and she's had plenty!). All staff excellent. Some parts of the hotel do need refurbing... More

The hotel has recently been taken over by a previous owner who ran the hotel successfully for a long time. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Our room was a little dated, but discussions with the owner indicate major refurbishment in the near future. We ate in the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of our meal. The hotel... More

You enter the hotel to a hearty welcome from the owner. Our room was a very good size with everything you needed as was the en suite. There was parking behind the hotel and the wifi was good. The hotel towels were more like 5 Star London hotels, really nice. But that's not all.... The food was excellent!!!! Correct sized... More

I have had the pleasure of staying, and dining, at the Wynnstay several times, however my review is about my latest visit after the hotel re-opened. When I visited the hotel was still being re-furbished, including my room. This was not an issue at all as the room, and bathroom were clean, tidy. The Bed was extremely comfy, and welcome... More

Stayed here in June 2016 for two nights as part of a group of 9 guys on ancient Lambrettas. The hotel had reopened a few months ago under the care of a team that ran it a few years back, I understand that the purchase hasn't been too easy and that the relaunch has taken place in phases. It seems... More

I was part of a group of eight bikers touring north wales and we stayed here for two nights. There has been a recent change to the management and I understand before that time things were not so good. All I can say is we had a fantastic stay, good beer, wine and food with comfortable rooms. Very biker friendly... More

I came with 7 friends for 2 nights while on a motorcycle tour of Wales. The weather for the late May bank holiday weekend was fantastic, and this hotel contributed to a truly magical trip. Rooms are a good size - comfortable and very clean. The bar and restaurant are just right. For one night we had dinner as part... More

Spent a couple of nights at the Wynnstay in a family room. Comfy room - good mattresses and bedding and great shower. We were at the back of the building which was quiet except the fans from the kitchen woke us at 7am! Breakfast was plentiful and served in a nice room. The hotel is cosy but needs updating a... Charles and Sheila were very helpful (we had motorcycles, leathers and bags!!) and managed to squeeze us in for two nights and feed us with great food all very reasonably priced. The area was busy from an event and nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of safe lock up parking for your bike or car and the car park is... More
