What a little gem the Wynnstay is. One the Main Street of Machynlleth, a bustling market town that boasts a MOMA - currently displaying John Carter, RA, the Wynnstay Arms is a welcoming old coach inn. Anticipate a myriad of higglypiggly rooms, staircases and blazing log fires. Couple this with an onsite pizzeria, and real life Italian chef and you...

Picked up a gimme on Travelzoo and glad we went. As it is an Old Coaching Inn don't expect it to be laid out like a Holiday Inn. Nice bars and food was excellent. Staff were really friendly. Only minor grizzle was the car parking,, not so much the space but the inconsiderate parking by fellow guests. Will go again...

My wife and I booked a weekend break at the Wynnstay through the Travelzoo web site. The hotel is well located in the centre of Machynlleth with ample off street parking. The majority of the building is 18th century so don't expect completely flat floors or square shaped rooms (or wifi in all locations) but it is charming. Our room...

Stayed at this gem of a hotel through a Travelzoo that was gifted to us. The proprietor and all the staff are welcoming and warm. We were made to feel welcome from the initial booking of the weekend until we left. The hotel is in need of some updating but is very comfortable, cosy and clean. Lovely crisp sheets and...

We discovered the Wynnstay Hotel via a Travelzoo offer and it is certainly one of the best discoveries we made. As per the other reviewers there is a certain charm about the place - sloping floors and the odd mark on the wall but if you understand that the current owners have recently taken it over and have plans to...

Booked for the Friday night in prep for the next day at Dyfi forest. What a gem of a place and the local area is excellent too. I have to say the proprietor is one of the friendliest I have known. Very accommodating and welcoming. Highly recommended, a historic building with a warm ambience. Well done to you guys and...

We are so happy to have stayed at the Wynnstay. The staff are absolutely amazing and a credit to the hotel. The room was huge and comfortable. It's a very old building with wobbly, creaky floors but it's a delight to spend time in. Yes, maybe the bathroom could do with a slight revamp, but it was absolutely fine for...

Many restaurants and hotels talk the ideals of provenance and Slow Food philosophy, very few manage to walk the walk! Charles and Shelia the owners of the Wynnstay hotel excel at walking that walk. They have the knowledge and the experience gained from travel and having owned the business before and it shows from the character of this old coaching...

Had evening meal. I can't praise the food enough. It was a bit expensive but portions were just right, really tasty and staff were friendly. Lovely atmosphere . Local fresh produce used, Welsh lamb just melted in your mouth.
