Spent a couple of days here as We do each year around my Birthday. The food in the tavern was amazing, we then sat on the terrace overlooking the lake with a glass of Merlot - perfect! Idyllic location to relax and unwind.

After a successful internet search my wife and I decided in indulge in a short spa break at the Lake Vrynwy spa hotel. We chose a superior lake view room and it was certainly a stunning scene that greeted us as we arrived. The room itself was large and spacious and the bathroom looked as if it had been recently... This was a return visit. Excellent location with splendid views and countryside. Lovely and quiet. Wonderful location for walking Reception average, not very friendly .No offer of help with luggage. Hotel seems very dated and in need of some refurbishment. Room was very disappointing and not worth the money . Bedside lamp not working and waste paper bin had not... More

We stayed for three nights. The room was large and spacious but the decor was no better than average. The carpet seemed a bit old. The bathroom was quite nice, with separate tub and shower. The food quality was good in the main dining room, but the staff while mostly pleasant, seemed poorly trained. They appeared to want to do... More

We stayed in a premier room with a lake view and balcony and the panorama was spectacular. The bedroom was spacious with a big, very comfortable bed. There was also a big, modern bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower. The towels were beautifully thick and there was a reasonable supply of toiletries. However, there was no safe in the... More

Ok, so the decor is 20 years out of date and I was expecting a child on a tricycle to come down the corridor saying "red rum" but the service was lovely, the location is fantastic, the food good and I had the spa to myself (costs £10 for as long as you like.) Out of date decor usually spoils... More

My wife and I both love this hotel and the gorgeous and relaxing surroundings. We have not been for a couple of years but decided to go back for another visit. I was undecided whether to rate very good or average but I think I would have picked good if available. The main difference from a few years back is... More

Good points... We can recommend the Tower restaurant, Tavern bistro & bar. Good food & service. All the staff we met were lovely. Wonderful views of Lake Vyrnwy and location is great for plenty of walks right on the doorstep. The bed was comfy. Now the gripes... We paid £200 a night b & b for a premier luxury room... More

My husband and I went for afternoon tea. We had already visited the area and had seen the hotel from the road. The staff were very friendly, efficient and polite. We sat in the terrace, the view over the lake was absolutely stunning. Our afternoon tea was delicious. We would certainly return and in fact we are looking at the... More
