We visited this for a weekend away and not too far from us. The building is simply beautiful with a wonderful old coaching courtyard. The bedroom we were given was part of the old stables but couldn't have been less like it. Full of beams, very smart with excellent bathroom. We ate there that night and excellent meal. All for... Stayed here after a long day half way through walking Offas Dyke. Welcoming friendly locals in bar. By far the best food we had during our 2 week trip. Efficient staff, great service. Clean cosy room & good breakfast cooked fresh to order. Laundrette close and Offas Dyke Centre

+ Slightly more expensive than other B&Bs but well worth it. Place was a palace with spacious rooms. Big bathroom, and everything clean as well. Kind people too. Restaurant nearby by same owners, also recommended. Good location and value for money. - No downsides.

Difficult to fault any aspect of our stay. The room was lovely, lots of space, clean, nicely decorated and private without being seclusive. Food was also really good. Excellant evening meal, vegetarian options, real ale and a hearty breakfast. A perfect start to day 1 of Offa's Dyke.

The twin rooms were very small, just two beds, a tv on the wall and two bedside tables; no room to put 2 small cases and in particular there was no mirror in the room. The electric sockets were hard to reach, being behind the beds. The bathroom was nice and there was at least a lighted mirror. We were... More

Atmospheric! Open beams, huge bathroom, supremely comfortable bed in the "Tolland" room. Pub incredibly lively; well-served pints of Hereford Pale Ale. Excellent restaurant with some tasty Mexican-style selections. Staff could not be more welcoming. Wonderful base for Offa's Dyke Path. Knighton is a gem, and the Horse & Jockey is the place to be.

Our accommodation was the cottage, an old outbuilding converted into an on-suite room with original low oak beams. Breakfast offered a good range from toast to full Welsh. The evening menu in the restaurant was extensive and the food was well presented and delicious with a good choice of wines to complement it. All staff were friendly and welcoming with... More

This was my first stay at the Horse & Jockey and I was a little disappointed. Fantastic breakfast and very friendly landlady. However, my bedroom did need attention - great bathroom but frayed towels, bed uncomfortable and light bulbs blown. Bed side light probably had a loose wire as it would go on and off when the wire was touched.... More

Stayed recently for a couple nights while biking Transcambrian. Food was great and the general atmosphere in the bar very welcoming. Rooms clean but small. One problem was an issue with the water pressure when several people were showering/bathing at same time. nevertheless would recommend for a cheap overnight. Note, no parking. Although spaces nearby.

We stayed here for 4 nights while walking Offa's Dyke, a convenient base with easy access to the route on foot, by bus and taxi. Spacious and comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Enjoyed local cider in the cosy bar before hearty, well-cooked food from the varied menu. Breakfast equally good. Great staff - friendly, attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed being... More
