Having stayed at this hotel before, we decided to stay for a couple of nights on our way to Pembrokeshire . Once again it didn't disappoint. We were greeted with a cheerful welcome and all the staff went out of their way to make our visit relaxing and enjoyable. The setting is perfect and it was such a joy to... More

I ended up at the Penmaenuchaf Hall thanks to Booking.com making a mess of my original hotel booking. This hotel is perfect for weddings and is a nice hide away, but don't expect to be able to have an early start, breakfast 8:30 start on Sunday was for me a let down...... Evening meal was all about the quality rather... More

We stayed in Barmouth for the last week of August and found it quite difficult to find somewhere to eat. If you wanted fast food there was plenty of choice but finding a decent restaurant that was open on Sun,Mon,Tues or Weds evening proved nearly impossible. Anything that was open Weds onwards was booked up so thank goodness for Penmaenuchaf... More

My husband and I visited here for an afternoon tea. We were warmly greeted and shown to a delightful room where a lovely table by the window had been set for us to have our afternoon tea. We only waited about 5 minutes before a tiered cake stand was brought in for us with a superb selection of sandwiches and... More

This is a beautiful building in a beautiful location. However it is priced at a four star level but does not provide a four star experience. The devil is in the detail. The public areas are comfortably furnished and the dining room is a delightful room. The food was good and the bedroom we had a was large with great... More

We enjoyed a lovely night stay at this hotel in May on a trip round Wales. The service was excellent throughout and I cannot understand the reviews which suggest otherwise as I was a little unsure what to expect on arrival but the service was welcoming, friendly and efficient throughout. Special thanks must go to the lovely Louise who helped... More

A rather exciting drive up to the hotel with multiple blind corners is rewarded with wonderful views, beautiful gardens, excellent afternoon tea and attentive but discreet service. Like being welcomed into someone's home. Highly recommended.

A little hard to find and is off the beaten path but well worth the effort. A traditional English Manor with extensive grounds and gardens. First you need to know there are no elevators/lifts or air conditioning, although if its a little cold there are fireplaces in some rooms, radiators and plenty of blankets. The public sitting rooms just call... More
