Fantastic short break. Dog friendly hotel. wonderful walk along the Wye. Neil [the host] was really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be going back in the Autumn. Thank you Neil for a lovely few days. Carole,Pete and Annie [our chocolate Labrador]

The Queens Head is what you would expect for a building of its age. Very beautiful around the edges. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was freshly prepared. The ceiling in the bar is stunning. Close to town, easy walk. Butty Bach ale was lovely. Overall lovely, relaxing stay.

I was taking part in a race in nearby Usk with a group of friends and we needed somewhere cheap and comfortable for 1 night - The Queen's Head was just the job, pretty much perfect for our needs. Neil, the owner was very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother.

Me and my son stayed here overnight en route to an open day at Cardiff University. Was a bit dubious on seeing building for the first time but was met by the owner Neil who was an excellent host. The building is looking a bit tired but what do you expect for a building over 400yr old. Its certainly got... More

I stayed one night and would have gone elsewhere apart from having paid in advance. The room smelled of drains, the dirty and broken shower overflowed and the toilet had flies in. As the place was really filthy there was no chance I would have eaten there.. I guess people complain often as I had only said two words and... More

Arrived on a very wet and windy Saturday, so glad to get inside, place is full of history a proper locals pub downstairs and very comfortable. Bedroom very clean with everything we needed for an overnight stay, problem with the remote for TV but that didn't really matter for us. Probably wouldn't stay more than a couple of nights but... Had booked a 4 day stay but only stayed 1 night. The room was very tired, and what with the road noise and church bells very noisy during the night. Was very tired the next day. Could only recommend it if you had a hearing loss.

We had a really fun stay here. The pub is full of character, and you can almost feel the history as you sit round the 400 year old fireplace. The landlord is really friendly and helpful, and cooked a great breakfast for us all at a time that suited us. The rooms themselves are quirky and funny shaped, but I... More
