Stayed in room one, which was a good size room with separate toilet and bathroom which is always handy. Drinks reasonably priced and food looked good but I didn't eat there. Good car park at the back, as criccieth can get very busy. Breakfast was good, but sausages were cooked to oblivion which was a shame.

We wanted somewhere to escape for a weekend, and The Lion fitted the bill perfectly. The location is brilliant with plenty of parking, and right in the centre of Criccieth. The room was modern without losing the charm and character of a traditional hotel, and most importantly it was scrupulously clean. The bar was comfortable with a friendly atmosphere, and...

We LOVE Criccieth and go at least once a year. We've stayed in numerous different lodgings - mainly self catering which is more suited to a week or more stay. The Lion is a lovely traditional hotel that is perfectly situated. The only issue we had was the beds were really uncomfortable. The mattresses could do with replacing and the...

Everything you need for a great holiday! We found the hotel on Groupon but when we called to see availability, they gave us the same deal - bonus! The hotel location is perfect whether you come by car or train and it takes a two minute stroll to the beach. Located a few meters from the high street with little...

We decided to hold out until Thursday to try and get a good deal for two nights in our beloved Wales, and this place did not disappoint. We stayed in room 12. It was very "roomy" well lit, plenty of mirrors, a large wardrobe (hangers were plentiful), hairdryer and a comfortable bathroom with a decent shower. I don't normally go...

With a rare weekend without the teenager, we decided to escape to Wales for a peaceful and relaxing weekend away. With still recovering financially from Christmas, we chose a Groupon Deal to the Lion Hotel to try something different. We always enjoy trips out to Wales, but in February were prepared for the possibility of snow, everywhere being closed and...

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my partner. We had a double room on the second floor overlooking the front of the hotel. Overall the hotel was very nice. The location is good, close to town but not too noisy, and has decent parking to the rear of the hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was...

Lovely hotel, situated in the centre of Criccieth, very friendly staff, lovely food, great for our winter long weekend. We had a comfy room with good shower and view of the castle. Lots of nice walks from here.

The evening meal pleasant. The room was cosy and warm. It was a pleasant two night stay. Staff helpful. Very happy there. When I read the hotel info when we arrived I found out some rooms and an excellent view. We might have liked to stay in one of these rooms had we known.
