I was in Old Colwyn, Colwyn Bay for a funeral, I used to live there, I now live in Scotland. The Lyndale, is quaint, quiet, quirky but really good value. Good parking, not far from Old Colwyn Promenade, village centre with it's shops excellent pubs and cafe's. Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea are within 2 miles. I walked to Rhos on Sea and back and I've a replacement knee! Eirias Park is within a mile. Old Colwyn Golf Club, is less than half a mile away. A good challenging 9 hole course. It is practically deserted most days. Playing on here, with it's fabulous views is surely millionaire golf? This hotel is old fashioned, but clean and tidy. The full breakfast sets you up for the day. After 40 plus years traveling as a Steel Erector, I have stayed in lots of Hotels and B&B's . The Lyndale is good. I had a single room ensuite with a seaview. It was great. Well Recommended!…
A old lady showed us to are room never spoke or smiled. We only stayed two nights any longer we would of booked out .The bed was like a brick the pillows were flat there was known extra blankets. The decoration was poorly the skirting boards were dirty .The whole room looked like it was half cleaned. The owner was a nice man . But 1st impressing mean a lot and we would never go back .
we only had 1 night as a stop over, but was greeted with a nice cheerful gent.the room was clean and tidy.didnt spend much time at hotel but would stay again if needed to.breakfast was good and plenty.
The constant traffic noise coming through single-glazed windows from the main road outside meant I had to use earplugs to sleep. There were only two watchable tv channels due to heavy image pixalation: news and children's tv. On the second night all channels were lost. The water pipe makes a loud noise in the morning. The bedroom window does not close and seal properly. The owner and view were pleasant.
I booked this hotel a couple of weeks ago and from the information I thought it to be ideally suited for my plans however upon my arrival at the hotel on entering I was met by a horrible musty smell that was prominent throughout the hotel on the outside looks great with sea views etc but on the inside it’s a different story it’s very dated and in fact dirty my room had stains in the walls from spilt drinks etc in the bathroom you could clearly see dirty hand prints where people had entered the bath but put their hand out on the wall to steady themselves my advice to other travellers is pass this hotel by
