Happened to call in during a quiet time and found a table with ease. I had the fish and chips with the crushed peas which I adore. My friend had the Asian salad with salmon which she was delighted with. A glass of chilled Pinot Grigio was the perfect drink for the meals we'd ordered on this delightful afternoon. A... More

Aberaeron harbour is a bit like an adult Balamory. The approach from the south (New Quay) is distracting, if you're a driver, as it gives you a sweep of Cardigan Bay and one of the best views of Aberaeron. The Harbour Master is a restaurant that specialises, as do so many outlets along Cardigan Bay, in local food exquisitely well... More

We had a lovely short stay here as a couple! The food was spectacular with no faults at all! Cockles and laverbread for breakfast was amazing! Our room was absolutely stunning with such attention to detail and views to delight. The Tregwynt Welsh blanket which was on our bed was gorgeous and made me realise that i needed one in... More

We visited the Harbourmaster Hotel restaurant just recently as one of my friend's friend gave good review of food. We will never visit the restaurant again! One of my friend's ordered beer batter fish, and chips. Her fish was minute to say the least, very small. Another friend asked to have plain burger, and it wasn't bought plain as asked,... More

6 of us met on a Tuesday night for a bar meal. The bar was very busy and there was a great atmosphere. We had a drink to start then found a table quite quickly. The bar meals are excellent - bread and olives to start - best olives i have had. Then we had 2 seafood risottos full of... More

We dropped in for lunch after hearing years of good reports. Having waited three quarters of an hour after ordering, the soup, which was excellent eventually arrived. The main courses for four of us were dreadful, the Salmon Fishcakes were totally tasteless, the Burger was ridiculously enormous, greasy and tasteless, the chicken in the salad was tasty but the lettuce... Arrived on a hot bank holiday Monday. Setting was stunning with the hotel looking over a picturesque harbour. Room was better than picture with plenty of space and little extras that made all the difference. Complimentary chocolates on arrival then complimentary coffee and cake later in bar! Proper coffee and cafetière in room. Atmosphere in bar and restaurant was warm... More

The setting of The Harbourmaster is great [right in the harbour]. Drinks are really good which include local small breweries.Food was terrific especially the cockles. Staff are really nice ,hard working and efficient. Also nice is that most of the staff spoke Welsh.

Virtually everything about this place is great. The location is perfect, with a view from the main entrance of the boats in the little harbour. The decor is stylish and comfortable, with some easy chairs in the bar facing out over the harbour. We stayed on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Basis, which was perfect. Our room was called 'Gambia'...
