For those of you that read my reviews you know I don’t normally post bad reviews but I felt compelled to write one for the big cypress lodge! The room rate after tax is $402 a night, and Travelocity boast that it is a five-star hotel. It is a three star hotel! At the most. In the room you will not find any glassware only plastic cups for coffee the bars only have bottom shelf liquor and tonight only plastic cups😞no top shelf drinks are available with a very limited menu. We Could have stayed at the Peabody for 150 with every need catered to😢😢😢 All room service stops at 9o’clock including liquor or wine. The food was appalling. Chicken was so tough my wife only had one bite. They encouraged me to buy a bottle of wine to take to my room because all service stops at 9:00 only to be stopped at the elevator by a employee telling me alcohol is not allowed out of the restaurant... I would pay 200 tops for this value. The only bright spot here is the rooms are very charming and they have big bathtubs!

We had a great time with our kids over Thanksgiving. Room service was delicious and Jeffrey the Bellman gave us the warmest welcome. Mask wearing/social distancing was not enforced among the guests sadly.

I was driving back to Texas from Vermont and Memphis was my end point one day for driving. This hotel exceeded my expectations. 1. Great deal day of reservation. 2. Free parking at the hotel, with the option of valet. 3. Food on site which was huge for me as a solo traveler. Last thing I wanted to do was drive for food. 4. Jacuzzi tub! 5. Comfortable bed. 6. Easy check in and out. 7. Amazing staff. I cannot wait to go back!

Wonderful atmosphere with a great staff. Perfect for a night away from reality and an awesome look into the history of the mississippi river flyway. Everyone made sure we were well taken care of and the entire staff was extremely friendly. Jeffrey, our shuttle driver was super helpful and had some great conversation on the ride back to our room. Great guy and you'll be lucky to meet him. Wish we could stay longer because a couple days isn't enough to see all this place and downtown memphis has to offer.
