We stayed on the top floor of this lovely hotel. The entire hotel is the epitome of southern charm. Beds are comfy, pillows are soft and fluffy. Food is divine. A gorgeous view of the river on the porch outside that wraps around the top floor where you can be beverages. It is an easy walk across the street to walk the riverside and to shop at the many shops. The architecture is beautiful and perfect for the area. This has the perfect feeling of a community, with private homes mixed with hotels and shops. What is not to like here?
So lovely! The room, the restaurants, the candlelit lobby. The full made-to-order breakfast at Paulette's (which is part of the hospitality of the room) was a highlight. The welcome champagne and turn down service with port and chocolates made us feel pampered. In a city with limited and/or premium priced parking, the ample and complementary parking just made the trip so much less stressful. We loved our comfortable four poster bed and view of the Mississippi River (especially at sunset). The area around the hotel is beautiful and very safe as well. There are a specialty market and day spa around the corner, as well as a variety of places to eat. I will never stay anywhere else while in Memphis.
River Inn is a very nice hotel made special by its amazing staff! Everyone was welcoming and friendly, Tara especially went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay. Food is lovely at the pub and Paulette’s and the Terrace bar is a must! My room was great, clean and comfortable. Coffee is available in the lobby each morning but I did miss not having a coffee maker in the room. There is a market at the end of the road which was useful for water and essentials too. Overall, I enjoyed my stay - thank you to staff at River Inn!
Beautiful hotel in a quiet area of Memphis on the river. This was a special sisters getaway and Memphis did not disappoint. Our room was clean, champagne on arrival was a nice touch and the fireplace in the lobby is very cozy. Positives include nice robes, freshly brewed coffee in the lobby at 6 am, and breakfast at Paulette’s which was really amazing. I would rate the River Inn 5 stars but- we had an electrical issue with our bathroom lights the entire time. On the third day maintenance worked on it but the problem continued. We also had plumbing issues that ruined one night of our stay. I understand these things happen and the night crew was apologetic but we were disappointed that the issues were never addressed with us or followed up on. Love the hotel but I would recommend a bit more care of guests when issues arise.…
Tara at the front desk is amazing. She knew I was there for a funeral and was so caring,….love this hotel. One should stay here when in the area. We have stayed here for several years for fun and for work and for other reasons. Food and scenery and people are worth it all.
We had a delightful 3 night stay at the River Inn. The location in Harbor Town was convenient to visiting the sights of Memphis - either driving ourselves or taking an Uber. After our days of sight seeing, we appreciated leaving downtown behind and relaxing in Harbor Town, across the street from the great river. Breakfast each day was fabulous, the staff always welcoming, and the accommodations superb. If you stay, or just visit, make sure you check out the Terrace Bar where you can watch the lights on the Memphis M bridge come on.
Gorgeous boutique hotel, with great views of the Mississippi! Hotel staff was excellent! Extremely polite and over accommodating!! Rooms were very clean and well maintained. Paulette's restaurant service was outstanding!
My twin sister and I went to Memphis, our home town, for a 60th high school reunion and stayed at the River Inn. The accommodations were EXCELLENT & the staff were the best, especially Laquita & Tara. We made so many new friends & felt at home here. If & when we return to MEM, we’ll always stay here for another beautiful & totally relaxing stay. This place gets 5 stars! Look no further ~ this place is PERFECT! 👍😊
This is a lovely little hotel opposite the river where you can watch the sun go down over the river as you eat your dinner. Pianist playing in the lobby, great staff, fantastic food and easy free parking.
Where to begin. This boutique hotel is located in a walking community near downtown with gorgeous river views and park across the street. Tara and Quitta greeted us with true Southern charm and offering a glass of wine or champagne. Our room was spacious w/a comfortable bed and Port and Lindor chocolates on the table overlooking the river. 3 restaurants are immediately available: Paulette’s, might want a reservation, Tugs, pub with varied menu, and a penthouse bar/grill whose outside walls open to better see the Mississippi. Dinner at Tugs was delicious. Breakfast was included with the room and also delicious. Service and wait staff were very friendly and accommodating to dietary constraints. Lovely walk along the river capped off a wonderful evening. Cannot say enough good things. Highly recommend you give this hidden gem a try.…
