Restaurant was disaster. Over 30 minutes to get coffee then another 30 before breakfast order was taken. Food not at Standard of a Westin. Needs lots of attention there! Both servers and cooks need lots of additional training to work right.
I was reading reviews for the Westin after I had booked my stay for July. I was very worried with what I was reading. I can honestly say that my stay has been perfect. Staff has been more than friendly, restaurant super ice has been great, and my room is just fine. Yes the hotel is 15 years old, but the building has been well maintained. The elevator is getting an overhaul while here so fingers crossed that will no longer be a sore spot for folks. Simply stated, the hotel is great and the location simply cannot be beaten in Memphis. This from a guy who travels every week for work! Kudos to Westin mgmt for turning things around.
Nice hotel. The rooms were well appointed, bathroom was very large with plenty of counter space, and plenty of outlets for charging. One elevator was down, but the rest of the hotel was very nice. Convenient location to lots of restaurants. The music from one of the bars in Beale st was a bit loud on a Saturday night, but still able to get good rest. Staff was outstanding!!!
Very old rooms and furnishings. Furniture and walls beat up. Hotel really needs to be rehabbed. Way too old to be called 4 star. Less than a 3 star. Wish we had stayed at the newer Hilton Canopy down the street. Very disappointing for a Westin. Staff was friendly at least.
Thank you to front desk attendants Ron and Jaylen for taking care of our Platinum upgrades at your hotel. They were both very very helpful with everything. We have stayed at this hotel several times and appreciate the good service.
Rezeption not friendly not interested to help .. Hotel has booked two Times in total approx 900 Euro since Days without authorization from my creditcard because i booked with points - i should call the guest Manager ... but she is not in the Office until 28th ...Standin is also not responding on my Email request .. so .. in reality you can do nothing because this is the only contact I have .. in the internet you can also not find any contact regarding a complain and she is not responding ... unbelivable
Was expecting more from a AAA Four Diamond hotel. A number issues with my current stay: - Front desk check-in associate was nice and did thank me for being a platinum-level member, but was not aware of providing me a choice of bonus points or breakfast voucher. Had to ask her. - Upon checking into my room, there was a foul odor and the bathroom fan was on. I requested service to address the odor issue using the Bonvoy app and left the hotel for lunch. Upon arrival, I inquired at the front desk whether they had time to address my service request and was unaware of my request. Had to mention the issue to them again as they had not checked. the app messages. - Valet parking was chaotic. Delays in retrieving my vehicle wee attributed to technical glitches in the valet software to issues with new employees. Regardless, there is a lot of room for improvement. - Another app issue; I requested a late checkout using the app and it was not acknowledged. I had to call the front desk to request a late checkout time which was granted. Lesson: staff need to be taught how to use the app on their end. - I would have enjoyed trying out the restaurant, but they were not open for lunch during my stay. A couple of positives: I was afforded a nice room upgrade and the staff were courteous and polite.…
We purchased through Priceline to stay in June 17th to 19th. On the 11th I revive notice about another night. We were planning to go to Memphis for our anniversary but the Westin refused to cancel the reservation when faced with an error. They refuse to return 550. These is like a Nigerian scam hotel. Way to steal money and destroy what was to be a memorable trip.
Not upto Westin standard. Head office needs to do a secret undercover stay and learn why this Westin has become a disgusting dirty , poorly run hotel . We had to wait til 6.15pm before they had our room ready then we had to get them to actually change the bed sheets as they were still the same ones from the last guests. Mini bar was half empty and we were told “ to bad “ still not re stocked 3 days later. THE ONLY THING THIS HOTEL HAS IS LOCATION but not worth the sacrifice on all the other important things. Look for a better hotel.
First, the valets are extraordinary. Constantly working, friendly, polite, & professional. It'd be impossible to walk in without receiving a warm greeting from the valets. Otherwise, extraordinarily average. No housekeeping service; some professional & some very unprofessional front desk staff; & horrid restaurant food. For some reason, no coffee before 6:30 am when the Starbucks around the corner opens for business. The hotel seems to forget that people are arriving from different time zones which may cause wake up at an early Memphis hour desiring some good, hot coffee & not the stale junk offered in the room. Outside seating is filthy, covered in remnants remaining from last night's part goers. Overall, I think the manager is pinching pennies at the expense of the hotels reputation & guest experience, making it equivalent to a much less expensive economy hotel …
