The Peabody Memphis is often celebrated for its historical elegance and prime location near Beale St, with guests frequently applauding the luxurious amenities like the famed duck march. However, the experiences with room quality are inconsistent; some guests find the rooms comfortable and well-kept, while others report cleanliness issues and noise disturbances.
While the atmosphere is generally admired for its historical charm, opinions on the hotel's value and service vary, with some visitors mentioning unanticipated fees and service lapses.

We really enjoyed the charm and atmosphere of the hotel! The kids loved the duck walk! I would love to see more security in the self park garage because our vehicle was victim to a hit and run and I’m still waiting for staff to view the camera footage. It would also be awesome for a light breakfast to be included in with the hotel stay. We purchased muffins/bagel and drink from the deli/bakery and it was quite pricey. I would also love to see housekeeping use vacuums versus broom—several pieces of trash/crumbs on the carpet that could have been cleaned better. The bathroom also needed an exhaust fan to remove lots of steam from the shower and the drain in our shower was awful—like water covering my feet after a quick shower. It was reported to front desk but no change. Overall the hotel was great….but tweaking a few items could add so much for the stay!

We were about 200 at a professional meeting. It was perfect. The exhibitors had a room next door to the educational sessions, the staff was what I'd call "classy professional;" the servers even wore gloves for our group meal events. Our BB King evening event was but a two-block block walk from this classy hotel, it was an easy airport-to-hotel cab ride, the meeting buffets in the hotel were excellent, and the price for the accommodations was a bargain.

My friend and I visited Memphis for a long weekend on 3rd April and chose The Peabody for its location and the duck parade.
We were surprised and disappointed that the fountain was not full of water and ducks, given this is a selling point and tourist attraction. Even more surprised that it took a further 2 days to repair! We queued for an hour to watch the duck parade which was very cute, but would have been delighted to have a special area reserved for hotel guests to save the long tedious wait and bad back/knee issues. A suggestion going forwards.
The bathroom in our room was tiny and we were unable to shut the door each time we showered due to lack of space. Why in 2024 are shower curtains still a thing?? Who uses a bath in 2024? A walk-in shower unit would be much better use of the small space.
Having pointed out improvements that could be made, we had a great time in the hotel. The bed was comfortable, staff at reception and concierge were fantastic. We requested a coffee machine for our room as the queue in the morning in the cafe was slow and they ran out each time. The cocktails were tasty and service was quick by the pink ladies.
To summarise, the staff were brilliant and made the niggles become less important. The location is very central and I would stay again if I visited Memphis.

We were looking forward to our two night stay in the Peabody Memphis as the luxury stop on our road trip including Nashville, Memphis, Hot Springs and a few other stops on the way to New Orleans. We even decided to pay the extra $120 to upgrade our room as the trip is to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday and were given room 702
We were surprised that there was no coffee making facilities in the room but have since been told that is standard. We we’re given a coffee machine which we were grateful for but no cups were supplied
I was shocked that there was traces of mould in the bathroom basin but gave it a quick sluice round before my wife could see it so as not to worry her
Our main gripe is that when we popped back to freshen up at about 1630 on our second day no one had been in to make up the room we asked at reception and they said that as part of the upgrade we had a turn down service booked and it would be done then. When I pressed the receptionist on the difference between a turn down service and making the beds and changing the towels I was told I should have requested that the room be cleaned and that that was the hotels policy since Covid
It’s a shame we wasn’t told that when we paid for the upgrade
When we arrived back to the hotel at 21:00 the room still had not been cleaned
We managed to grab a couple of towels from a cleaner and decided to give up and write a review
We will not be going back

I was deeply disappointed by my stay at The Peabody because of numerous accessibility and staff issues. The hotel website lists that many places are accessible from public entrances, but the statements are misleading. No restaurants were accessible from the hotel without going outside and through another door around the block or up at least one step (unless staff misled us). My friend and I actually saw staff physically lift a man in a wheelchair into Chez Phillippe. When we got to The Peabody Grill after walking around the block, there was a step down to actually enter the grill. Several shops were not accessible because of stairs to them and locked outer doors. We reserved an accessible room with a roll-in shower three months in advance and did not get the room that we requested when we arrived. There is only one automated door (at the valet parking area) which makes entering the hotel difficult for people with walkers and wheelchairs. If you self-park, it is a long walk over uneven surfaces to get into the hotel. Sadly, most of the staff we encountered were not very helpful, knowledgeable, or pleasant. They did not know accessible routes and were not familiar with the room they put us in (they said it had a low threshold show, but it was a regular tub with grab bars). When I brought up the room issue at checkout, one front desk staff member responded in a way that made me feel that the room issue was my fault. Another staff member could have opened a door to help me access the hotel, but instead waved at me to come in and walked away while I struggled to enter with my walker. Additionally, the Lobby Bar closed down two hours early without any notice one evening while we were there despite the staff saying they had known about the early closing for three days. It is a beautiful hotel and is on the National Register of Historic Places, but it needs to work on accessibility. I was at the Palmer House (also on the Historic Register) in Chicago a week before my stay at The Peabody and received much better treatment by the staff and had no accessibility issues. They can do so much better. While the ducks and tea at Chez Phillippe were nice (Ok, the whole duck experience was awesome), I do not recommend this hotel to anyone with mobility challenges. My dream of a beautiful experience sadly did not come true, and I don't want anyone else to feel like a second class citizen as I did because they, like me, have mobility issues.

From the moment you arrive, the Peabody staff makes you feel like a valued guest. The room was spacious and just what we wanted, all spaces were clean and really comfortable - it's like they thought of everything. I appreciated the safe feel and easy access to the self-parking area. The staff was very gracious and helpful! Even the delicious scent that greets you when you walk through the lobby door just put you in a peaceful frame of mind. A wonderful hotel stay!!

We loved this hotel. Our booking was for a standard and quiet room but when we arrived we found that we had a room next to the lift. The room was very small and with two suitcases there was very little room to manoeuvre and the bed was queen size. We asked the Reception for an upgrade and for a very reasonable additional amount we were upgraded to a large king size room with a bed to match and a seating area which was terrific. There were generous supplies of bottled water and there were nice nice bathroom products. We had room service one evening and that worked well.
We were told by our travel agent not to book an inclusive breakfast as we would be able to find cafes/diners nearby. This is not the case so we ate breakfast in the hotel instead which was very good. There is a deli cafe which offers free coffee and sells pastries but this does not work for us as we have dietary requirements.
The Duck Walk which happens twice a day in the hotel is something not to miss.
The hotel area is well positioned but good restaurants do not appear to exist [Main Street is the better proposition for dining].
There is self parking or valet parking [note self parking is faster].
The hotel is within walking distance of Sun Studios and would recommend visiting The Edge Classic Car Museum.
FYI the drive to Gracelands is 25 minutes and to Tupelo 1 hr 40 minutes which are both worth visiting.

Horrific customer service with outdated policies. I secured a reservation on their website with my credit card as I had with previous stays there. The room was for a young family member as a gift who was traveling to Memphis . When he arrives they will not let him in room without him paying with a separate card??? I call and speak to one person, they tell me they have to have a physical card and the one I booked the room with they can’t charge??? So my family member calls me in distress because he doesn’t have a card to put in on, a college student not used to a 400 dollar charge. The person on the phone tells me repeatedly he has to send me a authorization form to complete and then they can run my card, I’m driving so I say I’ll pull over and fill it out to solve the issue, then they backtrack and say no it has to be done three days prior. I tell them I pay for 30yrs of Hilton and Marriott stays on my card all the time and they charge my card instantly, same with Amazon, Starbucks, Chick Fila, all on an app, the manager there says “ We are not those businesses “, I asked when they were going to wake up to 2024 for payment reception. I mean if some customer is literally begging you to run their credit card you say, “Of course and thank you”. Had to Venmo the youngster to deposit to a card he could use which negated my Amex points opportunity. The entire world uses a credit card to pay for trillions of things without the card ever being physically available. Thanks for nothing and ruining the excitement of a young man’s trip to your pathetic, outdated , rigid, idiotic policies. Hope someone can actually wake up to America in 2024. Can’t wait to spread the news. Do better.

Furry friends package had small adjoining room with thin walls to a family with kids who woke us up 3 times starting at 10pm as they entered and scaring the pup as she thought they were trying to get in the room. The “queen” bed was small for a queen and not as comfortable as we hoped from the way it was advertised on their site. We expected a mattress as comfortable as home or better for this establishment. The bathroom also very small and outdated. The shower head looked like it needed a good cleaning or replaced.

I love hotels like the Peabody. The history, charm, the ducks, one of the great hotels of the south. Iconic hotel and people are thrilled to be there. I went with my parents and it was our base to do some Elvis stuff. There are two in-house restaurants. Chez Phillipes looked super expensive so we went to the Carpriccio Grill once for breakfast and twice for dinner and was never disappointed. We used the corner bar happy hour and the main classic bar where we got yapping with some local folk. Staff all friendly. I do have a recommendation though. There are no coffee/tea machines in the hotel rooms. Free coffee 6am-9am in the deli downstairs. But the deli is super busy 7:30am-9am and under-staffed and then you have every one rushing into a fairly narrow room for the free coffee. Find a way of getting that free coffee out of that room because it creates a bottleneck.

The Blues Cafe is within a couple of blocks and very good. Getting off the trolley, Gus's World Famous Chicken is a couple of blocks off and is Very good and reasonable also.
I also prefer to call and usually get the same if not better rate than booking online.
We only have an indoor pool.
