We stayed overnight before catching ferry to Ireland. Elaine was a very welcoming and friendly host, and we had a very enjoyable stay at Lakeview. Right on the front with views across the park, and close to town. Would stay here again no problems.

A great little place, with friendly owners and very welcoming service. I have stayed in Stranraer a lot now and this place has now gone top of my list of places to stop for work. Breakfast was excellent, tea coffee and whisky in the room is a nice touch and the bed is comfortable - everything you need.

Ok. So I stayed in a single room on the journey from Belfast to Northampton. Arrived off the late ferry to a beautifully clean room with everything you need : water , tea and coffee, hair dryer and toiletries. For a very very reasonable price. Just keep in touch with Elaine on your journey and you will be very well... More

We stayed here on our honeymoon and were upgraded when Elaine found out we had just got married at Gretna Green. A very comfortable stay - the room was lovely and breakfast was great (there was even chamomile tea).

I stayed two nights in July whilst visiting family in Stranraer. I was made most welcome after a very exhausting trip and everything about the guesthouse was just perfect. Alan and Elaine and superb hosts, the rooms are well appointed and the powerful shower a most welcome reviver for a tired traveller. The breakfast, served in a bright well lit... More

We stayed here before getting the 7.30am ferry to Belfast. We had the family room on the top floor of the house. It had been a hot day and so the room was absolutely roasting when we arrived in the evening. The window latch was broken so the window could either be closed tight, or open fully - ie swinging... Elaine and Alan are wonderful hosts! We had a small double with good ventilation,a roomy en-suite, and great food at breakfast. Our,hosts went out of their way to help us in little -- and big -- ways. The Lake View gets high marks for being clean, comfortable, and quiet (our room was on the second floor away, from the street). It's... More
