Stayed overnight on way to Ireland. The Swan Inn is a fantastically friendly place. We had a really enjoyable evening in the bar where we (and our dog) were made most welcome. A great pub and we would definitely recommend.

Had dinner at this inn very nice but kids had half portions but only saved £1 curry £10.95 then charged £9.95 for half portion is shocking .so if you go with larger kids just get them the full portions.Dont get me wrong staff very nice food good just disappointed that there was only £1 taking of for half portion

very expensive for cereal and toast and nothing to butter toast with!!!. Worst of all my grandson was with me for a family anniversary and on lifting the toilet seat it was covered in faeces which i did not appreciate. Also the smell of urine on approaching the stairs was awful. Also care shouldbe taken by lifting the dog poo... More

Travelling around Scotland we stayed at man places. We don't look for posh hotels, we look for tiny litten places with nice people and the occasion for a smalltalk. Pub accomodation was a good choice. Tennents, FreeWiFi, Football on Sky and BT and the Chance to practice a bit on the dartboard, what else can you expect! The idea serving... More

My husband and dog and I decided to do a last minute road trip up to Scotland and ended up in Stranraer. It's tough to find a place, especially with the dog in tow, but found this place online and phoned up. The bloke was super-nice and we booked the family room for £45. When we showed up, he was... Perfect location if you're looking for a typical pub accommodation. Nearly centrally located, nice park across the street (to clear the head after a night in the pub). The rooms are as one can expect from such a type of hotel: appropriate and clean. We've had a family room, which was quite spacious, maybe the bathroom could need a bit... More

Canny little bar and rooms. No cooked breakfast but had cereal and toast in room with a little breakfast bar, microwave, fridge and toaster. Quite a relaxing place right on the front by a park. Owners have a lovely dog, no bother.

We stayed here for 1 night the room was really spacious and clean loved the fact the breakfast was already in your room ie cereal toast with all the trimmings and juice yogurt in the fridge which is also in the room. Nice big television. Cosy bed. Now for the down side, We think the owner may have forgot to... More

The staff were very friendly and clearly well liked by the locals. Both the family room and the twin room were decorated beautifully, very clean, comfortable and warm. The shower was lovely and easy to work as was everything else in the room. We were very pleased to have a small breakfast bar in both rooms which had a toaster... More

Stayed for three nights over the new year period. Our host was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean and warm, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was as advertised, which suited as a lie in was needed after the hogmanay celebration. Will return to Stranraer and will certainly return to the swan.
