Drove up from Manchester to meet my Dad for lunch at the Powerfoot Hotel. Dad had visited when my Mum was alive but it had changed a lot since then. Beautifully decorated, very warm and cosy with fantastic views looking over to Cumbria. I am a vegan and my husband rang before our visit to make sure there would be...

Really enjoyed the very different menu and appreciated the lighter lunch options. Ate in the comfortable lounge area and enjoyed the sun streaming through the window in November. Very good service and the food was beautifully cooked and tastefully served. Just nicely busy and we didn't feel rushed in any way.

What can say about eating here apart from being blown away by the food, the service, and the menu on offer. We walked in and found a free table via a waitress. The choice on the menus alone was a great start, and you can see details and balance of flavours is top of chefs mind here. Martin I have...

The hotel has been redecorated to an excellent standard the rooms are clean and light with fantastic views over the golf course and the beds are a dream to sleep in.
